22.01.2022 A tribute to Greg Webb -a fellow muso & transplant recipient: In a previous post of recent I made mention of the passing on of a young fellow musician and good... friend, out of respect I deliberately avoided mentioning names. Since, permission has been forthcoming for me to do so, I can now announce that that young fellow is Greg Webb, a brilliant keyboardist, a warm-hearted, cool, calm and caring being, a recipient of two lung transplants. Unfortunately, following an immense battle by Greg and a brilliant transplant team, all efforts failed, Mother Nature eventually called the shots! The pics below is of "Kaleidoscope Eyes" a Beatles tribute band, Greg is on keyboards, to the left in all of the pics. The last pic was taken at the Riverstock Music Festival 2012, Greg's last performance with the band, we did "Hey Jude" with John Swan -SWANEE ...as you can see, the crowd just loved the rendition! Greg's passing came as a shock to many, I, in particular, was deeply saddened, young Greg always inspired me with his good calm nature, his resilience and zest for life despite having to live daily with a serious health impediment! Despite only knowing him for a short few years, Greg will always live in my memory, well may he rest in peace!

18.01.2022 From Little Things Big Things Grow: Riverstock/DowntheRiver MURRAY PIONEER 20171212 After 10 years of exhilarating highs and devastating lows, mother nature being both cruel and kind and always live music, with all the friendship and fun it brings to a community event being at the forefront of why we worked so very hard all year to hold first Riverstock and then DowntheRiver on the magnificent River Murray bank at Moorook; we the committee have decided to have a break, a hiat...Continue reading

09.01.2022 ORGAN TRANSPLANTS -A SERIOUS MATTER: I was up at a Rock Concert in the Riverland on the weekend, a local acquaintance I bumped into informed me that a young fel...low muso, a keyboardist who performed with me in a Beatles tribute band had passed away recently, I was devastated. His life was terminated following two lung transplants, following desperate attempts by a brilliant transplant team who battled to extend his life for as long as they could! Just prior to this, I was engaged in listening to a band called STRANGE BREW, I enjoyed their set, however I was sad as I recalled listening to a former drummer of theirs preforming with breathing apparatus attached to his nose, when I questioned him on this he informed me that he was a lung transplant recipient. Of late, I was informed too of his passing away! Both of these guys impressed and inspired me immensely with their resilience and zest for life, they fought damn hard, along with medical science, to squeeze out every extra ounce of life available to them! Sadly, Mother Nature eventually called the shots! I am so deeply saddened by their passing! On receiving this bad news, for me, as a kidney transplant recipient of some 31 years, I feel quite blessed that, yes, Mother Nature dealt me a bad hand way back, however as nasty as she is, I still have better alternate survival options over most other organ transplant recipients. In conclusion, my renal check up tests over the past few months shows a deterioration in my transplant kidney performance, it's somewhat assumed that the anti-rejection medication I've been on for 31 years is causing kidney scarring, as such my ant-rejection medication has been adjusted. Any case, I've been through so much medical ups and downs before, me instincts tells me I'll survive somehow and be around for a few more decades! I love Life, life is Good! I remain indeed most grateful to all of those caring beings who've assisted in extending my life! Now, here is what you can do to help prolong someone's life, please, please register as an organ donor NOW! ...it was me some 33 years ago, it could be you or your kin down the track!
