11.01.2022 Well done to the staff at St Ignatius College in South Australia who this month downloaded the Down To Earth Events’ Make Your Schoolyard and Fetes/Events Waste Free Program. It’s currently free when using the code LOVEEARTH and includes digital files of these awesome bin signs. Download it here: https://lnkd.in/gVvQbD8... #eventsindustry #walfordcollege #adelaide #schooleducation #wastemanagement #southaustralia

10.01.2022 Can you imagine the huge amount of pride and delight I felt this morning when I received this picture from Kerry at the City of Unley? We assisted her and the council in finding not only the suitable bin cover manufacturers but also providing the designs (pics and wording) on the signs... which were modified to include the City of Unley logo. The lime green cover is different to the Down To Earth Events ones and they can withstand a shower of rain, where as our 36 bin covers ...are downpour proof - which just means we might be the ones to use if there is the chance of heavy rain. This is closed loop stuff ironically... Onkaparinga Council (and others) helped us with getting the bin sign designs as perfect as we could get it, they also provided us with a $3300 grant to get the covers made too. The designs came in and we got our covers made and now City of Unley are using their covers with our sign designs, only modified to include their logo. A perfect example of collaboration over competition. Did I receive a cut or commission for any of the linking of businesses or by providing access to the designs? Nope. Does that make me a poor business man? Nope. Am I creating new paradigms? You bet ya.

07.01.2022 Do you have a secret goal of creating a waste-free workplace? In realistic terms that is diverting up to 90% of waste from landfill. We've created a simple system. Simple, that is, when the following takes place: *the process is bitten into realistic small chunks;... *when office policies are made; *when everybody in the office is encouraged to come on board; *when everyone's learning curves are accepted as being an individual process and; *when all involved are encouraged for their efforts, educated on how they can improve and not scolded if they get it wrong. It’s not just about education, but about changing mindsets. Is your workplace up for it?

05.01.2022 Meet Robbie from Replas - Recycled Plastic Products Radelaide. I met him at the Recycle Hub (put on by the City of West Torrens as part of National Recycling Week). He is part of an organisation that takes plastics and turns them into products. Robbie kindly donated a bollard made from chip, chocolate and biscuit packets which we can show to schools as part of our Down To Earth Schools program.... Yes your soft plastic products can be donated to REDCYCLE bins found out the front of the two major supermarkets to make useful things! For more info visit www.replas.com.au (Having met mid-Movember he was growing the stache for charity- what a guy!)

05.01.2022 Now here is another good idea!

05.01.2022 I feel like this goes without saying. It’s the way things ought to be. Now, who’s in? Who wants to learn and aspire to be a great leader themselves. Remember, proximity is power. DM me if you would like to be a part of a team for the 5th and 6th of December. Bin Buddying at Partridge House, Glenelg, for Enlighten Adelaide.

03.01.2022 At Down To Earth Events we pride ourselves on having fun when educating people on how to be better Earth stewards. For what does the world need now ... but love sweet love!
