It is a really crucial mineral that is deficient in many people. . Yes supplements can be beneficial but eating zinc rich foods like oysters and pumpkin seeds especially, is a good habit to get into. ... . Getting zinc into the cells can be problematic too. 22.01.2022 Once/month my family get together to celebrate the monthly birthdays. This month we celebrated my baby turning 34! Where did the time go? . My family love to cook so I did dessert so I could prepare earlier and help out in the kitchen on the day. I made a gluten free/ lactose free cheesecake to cater for food intolerances. (Topping was a bit damaged removing the springform tin). . 21.01.2022 My favourite afternoon tea snack - well bigger than a snack, but I get super hungry in the afternoon. . Berries are full of antioxidants - think anti-ageing. Yoghurt is great food for healthy gut bacteria.... Some of my clients don't do well with some dairy, but very few react to yoghurt. . I add some nuts on the side for some extra healthy fats. . Berries are pretty high on the Dirty Dozen list - meaning they can be heavily sprayed with chemicals. I try to go organic for berries. Pre packing this snack allows the berries to defrost adding some extra yumminess. . Prepping your food doesn't have to be time consuming, and it helps you stay on track with healthy meal choices. 18.01.2022 Quick tips for healthy eating. I had a day working from home. I had lots to do and didn't want to spend too much time in the kitchen. Sound familiar. I put some olive oil on these veggies and put them in the oven. I put a quick mustard dressing and pumpkin seeds on the brussel sprouts and combined with spinach leaves and the rest of the veggies.... . Split that in 2, add some boiled eggs (I always have boiled eggs in the fridge) and you have today's lunch and enough to take for lunch tomorrow. . Tip - always cook extra. Leftovers make great lunches for the following day. . 05.01.2022 Let's be honest....I am not that much of a gardener but we did ok with the beetroots. . . Beets support good heart health. Here I diced them, added some onion slices, heaps of peeled garlic, some salt, thyme sprigs and olive oil and wrapped them in alfoil and cooked them for about 45 mins.... . I added some more salt and some balsamic vinegar before I blended it. If you eat dairy, it would be great with some added parmesan or pecorino cheese. .
