24.01.2022 Capella Pioneer Village

24.01.2022 Day one and we are very excited to be out and about again on tour after being cooped up for so long. Leaving Brisbane we stopped for a quick morning tea at the Gympie duck ponds and then headed to Maryborough to pick up more passengers. After lunch at Bundaberg we continued on to 1770 for a tasting at the local distillery before booking in to our very comfortable accommodation at Lagoons 1770 Resort.

16.01.2022 A highly recommended short tour which combines two of Australia's richest industries, cotton and opals with the magic of the outback. Highlights include a cotton farm tour, a visit to 'Trawalla', the largest and most productive Pecan Nut plantation in the southern hemisphere and discover the delights of the opal town of Lightning Ridge. To view the variety of experiences packed into this tour, click the photo below.

15.01.2022 Day three saw everyone eagerly board the coach for the next leg of our journey. First stop was Gladstone where we stopped at the lookout overlooking the Queensland Alumina Refinery. After morning tea at the marina it was off to Mt Morgan and a tour through the Railway Museum. After a quick look around town it was off for a drive around Yeppoon. Stopping at the Singing Ship monument saw us hanging on to our hats because the wind was so fierce. Great day.

15.01.2022 Day six. Our travels today took us from Airlie Beach to Emerald. Along the way we stopped for morning tea at a park beside the Marian info centre. The information centre is housed in Melba house which was once the home of Dame Nellie Melba. Lunch was at Dysart Bowls Club. Our next stop was the Capella Pioneer Village where the men wandered off to look at the many different kinds of machinery and the women looked through the homestead.

14.01.2022 Day four. Today we ventured into the Capricorn Caves. These limestone caves are one of the largest privately owned caves in Australia. In one of the larger caves they have a Cathedral where wedding services are held. The acoustics were spectacular as we sat on the benches and listened to the song, Hallelujah. After morning tea we headed for Airlie Beach. Looking forward to cruising around the Whitsundays tomorrow.

12.01.2022 Day two and we are off for a full day of adventure on the LARC. A wonderful day up to Bustard Head lighthouse and an unexpected dolphin sighting to top off the day on the way home.

05.01.2022 Joke for the day An Irishman saw a sign advertising a river cruise for $10. Thinkin this to be a great bargain, he promptly paid his money. Next thing he was hit on the head with a brick! When he woke up he was floating down the river tied to a log. Then he saw another Irishman floating on another log along side him. "Do they serve lunch on this cruise?" asked the Irishman. The other Irishman replied, "They didn't last year." Have a great weekend everyone :)
