17.01.2022 Trails Tuesday We haven't done a Trails Tuesday in awhile so lets share some pics from our last hike on The Loop Trail in Kalbarri, Western Australia What an amazing experience, first time doing this particular trail do and it did not let us down, We were really glad we started off early because boy does the temperature get warm down in the gorges. Layers came off pretty quickly and we could see why peoples health and well-being can easily decline down there....in fa...ct, sad to say but people have actually died due to lack of water and exposure to the elements so please make sure you are well prepared. Signage throughout is a reminder that Heat Kills!! Note: due to heat, the Loop Trail is closed after 7am from November to March inclusive. The Loop Walk is a challenging yet spectacular trail that highlights the erosive power of the Murchison River, which has carved magnificent gorges through the landscape to reveal the red and white banded rock. This 9km hike will take you along the edge of the cliffs, with views across the river, before working its way down to the river bank. Here, you can find sandy beaches, river gums and some technical rock scrambles, before the trail loops around and climbs out of the gorge back to Nature's Window Kalbarri is absolutely breathtaking. Wander out Yonder and experience this ancient gorge in all it's glory https://trailswa.com.au/trails/loop-walk Trails WA Explore Parks WA Australia's Coral Coast Western Australia Kalbarri, Western Australia

14.01.2022 R U O K Have you seen the mural along Albany Highway that was painted to add to a broader creative project aimed at raising awareness about mental health, to reflect The Blue Tree Project. ... Blue With A View is a support group based in Mt Barker. They created this mural on a water tank on local Glen Clode’s property, located a few metres before Gilberts Wines in Kendenup, on the left. It was a combined effort by residents Lyn Hambley, Kym Stoneham and Helen Andrijasevic and took approximately 15 hours to paint What we hope is that people will see it as they are driving, and that they will check in with the person next to them and ask, ‘Are you okay?’, Ms Hambley said. Because it’s okay not to be okay. The Amazing South Coast Western Australia Mount Barker, Western Australia Blue Tree Project Ruokday.com/

02.01.2022 Nothing gets by our Facebook Family Yes if you were listening to ABC Great Southern at 6.50am this morning you would of heard Chelle talking to Peter Barr about 4wding to the southern most point of Western Australia, Torbay Head Named by English navigator George Vancouver in 1792, Torbay Head is located in the dramatic West Cape Howe National Park just 30kms west of Albany, Western Australia. The park boasts an exceptionally scenic landscape including dramatic cliffs of gra...nite and black dolerite, isolated pure white sandy beaches, rock islands, rugged limestone outcrops and complex patterns of vegetation including patches of karri forest, peppermint thickets and windswept heathlands.......and nearly 500 species of plants are found in the park including banksias, trigger plants and more than 50 species of orchids. Swampy areas form a habitat for the carnivorous Albany pitcher plant and many bird species Few facilities are provided in this wild remote area yet it attracts campers, bushwalkers, fishermen plus fans of adventure activities from all over the state. Dolphins, seals and sealions may be spotted from the coastal cliffs with Humpback and southern right whales travelling along the coastline during winter and early spring Two-wheel drive vehicles can reach Shelley Beach and the nearby lookout, but other sites within the park require four wheel drive. Park features can also be reached by bushwalking along the sandy four-wheel-drive tracks Have you been Can you name some of the other stand out locations privvy to only those to dare to adventure into the unknown The Amazing South Coast Great Southern Centre for Outdoor Recreation Excellence Western Australia Ecotourism Australia
