25.01.2022 Esperance will you just stop! @ Esperance, Western Australia

23.01.2022 Kimbo on the Sewing Machine, and Matty on the welder! When we took delivery of our Landcruiser at the end of 2018, we had it fitted with a tub rather than a flat tray, and as a result, we had to wait sometime to have our lovely new AluCab canopy brought into the country. First one for a tub-body LC ever imported into Aus they tell me! Needing to move from Broome up in The Kimberley and take our belongings down to Carnarvon, we came up with a plan to fab up a homemade canopy u...sing all recycled materials, save for zips off eBay. Did the job great, but being worn recycled material it wasn't exactly waterproof but it got us several thousand KM through long dusty roads and rough rocky tracks in outback WA. Reuse, recycle kids. love it!

21.01.2022 Kim is at it again! The lovely lass has hopped on her heavy-duty 1960's sewing machine and made me this beautiful firewood carry from reclaimed Aussie swag canvas. Really nicely finished and reinforced for carrying large cut logs inside at home in winter, or even better for gathering firewood near camp when we're out in our happy place. ... We chatted about fabricating one of these last year in WA, and I had almost forgotten till Kimbo proudly handed it to me neatly folded. A simple item, but this will serve us for a lifetime and help us to keep ourselves warm in our travels all around outback Australia. Message Kim here or at Unplain Creation if you would like to order your own, or have some other custom made goodness in mind. Bags, storage, wraps, whatever you can imagine. The machine is freshly oiled and the canvas stash is begging for a new project! #australianmade #handmade #canvassewing #recycled #upcycled #heavyduty #outbackaustralia

20.01.2022 Flashback to 2014 - pedaling south from Scotland to Morocco - this is living Barry !

20.01.2022 Bumpy road woes! Definitely not the most graceful position, but a girls gotta do what a girls gotta do. While Kim was showing her Mum around the backyard, aka the Dampier Peninsular, Freds shock absorber slipped over the washer and bolt, causing a little havoc. The kindness of fellow travellers never ceases to amaze and we were back on the road the next day. . .... . #dirtroaddays #downunderlust #fjcruiserlife #outbacklife #travellerlife #justanotherdayinwa #dampierpeninsular #ifitsbrokefixit #gettingdirtyundercars #girls4x4 See more

16.01.2022 Another abundant dry season crop is on its way. Kim Cornicks veggie garden game has been taken up quite a few notches from our little effort last year in the ...Territory We share both the work and the harvest of this garden, as a co-operative effort with the 5 lovely folks we live with on a farm out of Broome, one of whom is a horticulturalist. It is so good to see such a healthy crop growing on the edge of the outback, and to be eating locally and seasonally.

16.01.2022 Morning flats are best fixed after coffee. Throwback to crossing outback QLD in 2016.

15.01.2022 Deep clean time. Two and a half years living on the road and old Freddy Boy needs a good loving spongebath We have had some pretty rad adresses - Gibb River Road, Crab Claw Island, Arnhem Highway and the Cape Leveque Road. Each of them has added a different shade of red dirt, Black soil, river mud and coastal sand to both the inside and outside of the rig. Adventure is out there! The world belongs to those still willing to get dirt on their hands dirty.

14.01.2022 Loving the 79 setup. Its our little dream home on wheels.

14.01.2022 8000km without one traffic light.

13.01.2022 We present to you, the HOT MINGE. My yankee barman Wes and I have experimented with three of the best tap pours at Matsos Broome Brewery and made a spicy little number that throws down some heat on these cool dry season arvos. Tasting a little like warm sunshine itself, the HOT MINGE is a wee squirt of fresh Chilli Beer (the hot) nestled in between equal measures of Fresh Mango Beer and Mastsos signature alcoholic Ginger Beer (the Minge). ... Mad if you dont !

13.01.2022 Monday morning greetings from the W.A office of LastXplorer

12.01.2022 Update from the road Nov 2019. Location - Blue waters of Esperance W.A. Both Kim and I are having a ball, heading for NSW for Xmas with family and friends with the whole rig in tow. ... Unemployed for the second and who knows where 2020 will take us geographically but tell ya what, we're bloody excited! We have spent 2019 working in the beautiful town of Carnarvon W.A and Ironing out the kinks in our new Toyota and custom trailer camp set up an are now well set up with our cruiser. Took a lot of waiting for international gear to be imported privately, and other gear to be custom fabricated but hell it was definitely worth the wait! The tent/awning comes off and stands alone as a base camp allowing us to do day trips without packing everything down each morning (PM us if you would like more details on this setup). The short story is - Sun is shining, fish are biting, beer is cold, good country music is cranking and we are happy humans on the road! Frothing, and living the damn dream. One job and one town at a time. Just realised its the weekend. I'm off for a bunning snag - catch y'all - Matt

11.01.2022 One of the great things about a slow lap is having the opportunity to be a part of the local community. Kims been hard at work creating her #hexmats to sell in a Broome pop up shop featuring local handmade items and artists. And of course Matts been hard at work helping get bottletops! You can check out her work on her page @unplaincreation

10.01.2022 Up to our old tricks again! We have left Broome and are pushing south towards Carnarvon. A busy year planned travelling and working on that area, and happy to report that we are living out of a rooftop tent once more and enjoying a nomadic life on the road.... Matt and Kim

08.01.2022 Quiet night in @downunderlust style. Under the cruiser rigging up our wiring loom for the new OzBar by Kaymar Australia. Couples that heatshrink together, stay together

06.01.2022 A photo two years in the making! When we arrived in Broome two years ago we learnt of the delicious blue bone - a six star eating fish! Ive caught two tiny ones over the past two years and Matts finally popped his cherry - with an absolutely whopper! 60cm and by far one of the tastiest meals weve had! #fishingwa #fishingbroome #bluebone #justanotherdayinwa #downunderlust

06.01.2022 Window to the Southern Ocean . Point DEntrecasteaux, WA

05.01.2022 Current location of travels : Blue Mountains NSW Mood : loving life

05.01.2022 Missing those blue water days! With the Build Up comes strong westerly winds which turn our once calm waters into rolling white caps. Not the best for those without strong sea legs.... Guess its time to head up the rivers in search of those elusive Barra.

05.01.2022 42 months. That's 1290 days That's over three and a half years. On the road full time.... Living and working and sucking the guts out of life! Eating up the miles around AUS and showing no sings of stopping anytime soon! Current location : SE South Australia See you on the road

05.01.2022 Bush Mechanics. all part of the ride!

04.01.2022 Bilpin looking gorgeous on my ride this morning after last weeks soaking of rain brought fresh growth, healthy shoots and saw green grass starting to poke up through much of the the ashen ground up in the mountains. The Blue Mountains are open for business! Pop up and see it for yourself, grab some fresh local fruit and produce and pop in and taste some delicious 100% fruit filled Hillbilly Cider. ... Still living on the road long term, but doing an Eastcoast stint for a bit - Kim and Matty find ourselves based up here now working as Hillbillies and loving the open space and lush mountain life

04.01.2022 Holey Smackrel! . Even at a distance the Stirling Ranges in South West WA are just spectacular!

04.01.2022 Something we really support and believe in - the need to #keepthedoctorflying

04.01.2022 Here is a series of photographs we started week one on the road - some three and a bit years of travels ago. I loved these sweeping long roads into QLD farm so much I started to document some on 35mm Ilford film as well passed through. Found this one on the HDD this morning and still reckon I would still love to come home down a driveway like this.

04.01.2022 What a day on the road ! Breakfast in South Australia Lunch in Victoria Dinner in New South Wales ... Propped up at a brilliant free camp on a bend in the Murrumbidgee river, right underneath the resident singing koala. Didn't take requests for TOOL songs though . Enjoying life on the road and all the adventures it brings

03.01.2022 Whats nice about living slowly and working our way around on the road, we are able to being part of each local community. If only for a short time its nice to experience a place for longer than just fuelling up and speeding off. Kim spent her weekend making handmade bags while I went on a boys trip up the Fitzroy chasing metre Barra.

03.01.2022 Sometimes its about taking the time to slow down and enjoy the scenery from a different point of view.

03.01.2022 A bit of history quietly rushing away out by the Gascoyne River. There was an engine from a 1936 international out there too. Just love checking out things like this. Nb. Before someone says it, the answer is not VDJ79R

01.01.2022 Loving the 79 setup. It’s our little dream home on wheels.

01.01.2022 Photos just dont do justice to the beauty of this region. So heres a photograph the photographer instead!! Doing what he loves in the hat that he loves!
