DO YOU EVEN BOOTCAMP BUTLER ran the coin toss workout last week and it definitely added some spice to their weekly calendar. Rules are simple: 2 x Coins 2 x Heads - Left side of the board 2 x Tails - Right side of the board 1 x Head + 1 x Tails - Middle of the board You can mix up the exercises to accomodate fitness levels and equipment available. 25.01.2022 There were so many highlights from the weekend it was hard to narrow it down to our favourite 10 pictures (Insta limit). True Grit - Military Inspired Obstacle Challenge is the highlight of the year for @doyouevenbootcamp and something our clubs work towards as an annual pilgrimage. 23.01.2022 - WORKOUT OF THE WEEK? You’re probably looking at this and saying: Am I missing something here This is what we call a DIY session. Where the members get to pick their own exercises and the trainer uses this format. The more people, the more exercises...however if there’s too many stick them in pairs and get them to decide one exercises between two.... From here, we start at 10 Reps of each exercise and work down by 1 to 1. At the end of each set we did a 20m shuttle run followed by descending burpees (10 - 1). We’ll put an example in the comments section. Once completed we did a 20/20 (cause it the year 2020) AMRAP for the remainder of the session time. Great way to finish of the year letting the Bootcampers pick exercises they enjoy! (It’s up to you to make them flow nice). 20.01.2022 - CONGRATULATIONS Sidney Marshall took out the greatest achievement at True Grit - Military Inspired Obstacle Challenge that didn’t happen without a photo award for her 4 runs over 2 days and for picking up her silver medal in doing so. Not only has she never missed an open session in the lead up to her TrueGrit training but she has also achieved this goal coming off stress fractures in her ankle. An epic achievement and a well deserved winner! She’s now looking to run ...RED DUST OCR in December as an elite female representing @doyouevenbootcamp! Work your way down from 21 by 3 to 3. The MC’s are counted as one for each leg. Take a short run before moving onto the main block. Main Set: The Reps and exercises decrease as you go. 17.01.2022 There are times in life when the mind and the heart think differently. In this dilemma, we should be strong enough to let our mind take the final decision. This is because the mind and its intelligence equip you to take the logical decision while the heart can get you emotional and provoke something which might not be fruitful in the long run. This does not mean one has to be ruthless and take decisions without consideration for anyone. But it is always better to let your own... intelligence prevail. Use your intelligence to think of an optimal decision. Spend time in coming up with that. It is okay to make a mistake after you have thought well but you will definitely regret if you make a decision where your emotions overruled your intelligence. You cannot use self-care as an excuse to be lazy because practicing self-care is doing the things that are beneficial for you. It is the practice of creating and maintaining habits that contribute to a more positive living. Doing your daily self-care checklist consists of productive practices that are greatly beneficial for your mental health and physical wellbeing. So, Are You Just Being Lazy? It is really easy to justify laziness as self-care especially when you do not have clear goals in life. Both self-care and laziness can have a similar concept of conserving your energy. However, one is for recharging and one is to make yourself even less motivated. Let’s pick skipping exercise as an example; You decide to listen to your body because you’re feeling tired and skip your regular training. The fact is training is the self-care you needed to ensure you continue to have more energy and endurance in the future as well as maintain strong and resilient mental health. I am pretty sure when you make these decisions you know in your heart which one is which...so next time you decide to practice self-care ask yourself is this really self-care or am I just being lazy?

After each exercise is complete there’s 10 x Burpees and a 200m run (100 out and back) before moving on to the next one. We allowed an hour to complete including warmup and cool down. ... 13.01.2022 If you are reading this, you made it through 2020. Yes, it might have been ugly, and you probably wouldn’t want to do it all over again. But the truth of the matter is while the calendar might be turning a new page, much of the reality will still be the same in 2021. Sadly, many of the struggles that we face will continue personally, professionally, nationally, and globally. Yeah, 2020 was a tough one. But we survived. We endured the challenges, and some of us even discover...ed newfound strength. We may not be our old selves, and we may be missing some of our friends and loved ones, but we are here. And that gives us reason enough to say thank you. So now is the time to plan a few strategies to help us thrive in 2021. Yes, it probably is still wise to have a back-up supply of toilet paper and an active subscription to Netflix. But some extra ideas will help make sure that no matter what 2021 throws at you, you will be prepared. As gyms and indoor facilities shut down and began to move outside to run a Blah Blah body weight Bootcamp sessions we continued to do what we always did which is run the best Bootcamp we could under the new guidelines. Not allot changed for us, sure we did the ...online training thing for awhile, like everyone tried to do, but we were ready, we adapted quickly, we stuck together and we got through that shit...and then we were first back out there when things started to settle. What are we gonna do for 2021? Same shit we always do, week in week out. Run the best Bootcamps around. Where? Outside in the fresh air where so many people have found themselves longing to be...it’s where we always were. 12.01.2022 - Workout of the Week Brought to you by Steve from DO YOU EVEN BOOTCAMP - CLARKSON Equipment: Kettle Bell, Medicine Ball, Slam Ball, Dumbbells.... This one starts out with a 1km run. Once completed you do 2 exercises back to back for 10 sets. One stays at 10 reps each time, the other scales down from 10, by 1, to 1. After the 10 sets are complete we alternate between a 200m sprint and another 1km run. The exercises can be changed to accommodate different equipment or client needs. To be precise, it is the only way that will bring your success. Well, there are lots of opportunities that we can grab. But, most of the time, we are indiff...erent towards it. So, to stay away from situations like that, what you have to do is to create your opportunities. And for that, you have to work pretty hard. You must know that creating your opportunities is not an easy thing. For that, you have to keep on trying. Sometimes, you may feel like giving up. But that is the most harmful thing that you will do. Coming to our first ever opening session in February, and rarely missing a session since! It has been an absolute pleasure getting to know them and watch them work hard week after week. Arma is one of the hardest working and friendliest blokes I’ve ever met I don’t think I’ve ever heard an excuse from him and it’s not uncommon for him to finish the entire board during the sessions. Liz gets extra points for coming to the AM sessions which is especially challenging in the middle of winter! It has been a pleasure watching her get stronger and faster during the sessions and she can always manage to put a smile on my face This past weekend they both competed in the Eagle Bay Adventure Race, doing a joint race which had Ian completing a 13km bike ride section and Liz smashing a 7.9 trail run Well done you bloody legends! We take a goal and make a plan. We see into the future possibilities. We attach meaning and purpose to a particular way we see the goal being accomplished. Imagination is how we come up with the plans in the first place. It is what enables us to make anything possible, anything happen. So w...hat am I focusing on? Is it something that brings my imagination into reality? Because if my reality and my imagination are not even close to being the same, then I need to refocus to make it so.
