The orthodontist colleague has opened up the space to the best level he could. 20.01.2022 Implants were placed about a year ago in Bali and patient never got a chance to go back for the crowns. Since implant placement, she had multiple episodes of infection and discomfort from the area. Peri-apical x-ray shows only mild bone loss but probing around the implants tells a different story! After raising a flap, the true extension of bone loss can be visualized. An interesting example of how relying on 2D x-rays when dealing with peri-implantitis, can be deceiving and ...wrong! In this case, there was no value in keeping those not-yet-restored implants. Both implants were explanted and site augmented with sausage technique to set the scene for new implants. Modern explantation and bone augmentation techniques allow us to conservatively remove ailing/failing implants and start over again. Trying desperately to salvage and retain implants with significant bone loss is now considered a thing of the past! #precisionperiodontics #periimplantitis #implantremoval #boneaugmentation #sausagetechnique

14.01.2022 On the evening of the day that Sydney experienced the worst ever air quality recorded in history caused by the recent bush fires, we were humbled by attendance ...of over 250 clinicians including dental specialists, dentists, OHTs and hygienists to our Christmas function and Gala dinner. It was a great night of lectures, good food, fairy lights, catching up with colleagues and putting faces to names. Thank you all who made it and those who couldnt make it we hope to see you next year. 11.01.2022 Mohit was doing his ADC exams at the same time that I was doing my perio postgrad at Melbourne Uni and also teaching at the OTC course some 6 years ago. He successfully passed his exams back then and now has opened up his own practice in Sunbury, Melbourne and is doing great! He happened to be one of the first visitors to our new practice. Small world! Well done Mohit, very proud of you!
