24.01.2022 PILATES @ Studio Eternal We are delighted to welcome LYNDIE BUTLER-BRUCE to the team at Eternal Women's Health. Lyndie is a passionate Pilates advocate and tea...cher with over a decade of experience. Her teaching philosophy is to engage, motivate and empower her clients by emphasising an holistic approach to correct patterns of movement, postural awareness and overall well-being. Lyndie will be offering three different class options. STRETCH & STABILISE A restorative-style class that will improve mobility and stability. This feel-good class includes luxurious stretches to release body tightness and help correct muscle imbalances while gentle strengthening your body. MOVE TO BLOOM - Prenatal A class designed to create a flow sequence that keeps you moving through a full body Pilates session. The exercises address the specific needs of the changing body during pregnancy; including the importance of breath, abdominal and pelvic floor strength and control, upper body strength and postural control, back extension spinal articulation, focus, and relaxation. Modifications are provided to help make you feel comfortable. Move at your own pace and listen to your body during this fun and calming class. MOVE TO HEAL - Postnatal (babies welcome) A gentle class is designed to get you to safely reconnected to your body after pregnancy. The class works on posture, as it is important to work on postural deviations that occur from feeding, cradling, etc, and gentle abdominal and pelvic floor activation to help you restore and strengthen your body. It is a great chance for you to take a moment between the demands of motherhood and life to focus on yourself and find energy and relaxation while assisting your body with this healing period CLASS TIMES Tuesday, commencing 18th AUGUST: 1.30 2.15 Move to Bloom 2.30 3.15 Move to Heal Wednesday, commencing 19th AUGUST: 10.45 11.30 Stretch to Stabilise (suitable for all) 11.45 12.30 Move to Heal 12.45 1.30 Move to Bloom 1.45 2.30 Move to Heal COST $220 for 10 class 'pack' CONTACT Reception to book (bookings are essential)

23.01.2022 Always fit your own oxygen mask before helping others. Today on R U OK? Day, during Women's Health Week, we want to encourage all our wider Eternal family to as...k your selves "Am I OK?". Check in with yourself now and do a quick scan from head to toe. Are you feeling rested? Fed and watered? Have you got up and moved in the last hour? When did you last smile or laugh? Do you feel comfortable in your own skin today? Are you feeling anxious or worried, angry and withdrawn, inadequate and guilty? The term "self-care" gets used extensively - I feel like I see it everywhere, in fact - but that's because it is incredibly important. You can't be the best version of you without putting some effort into creating and maintaining that, just as I keep telling my teenage son he can't expect to do well in his school subjects if he hasn't done the work he needs to first. In order to be present, engaged and reliable for the people that matter in your life - whether your family, friends, workmates, clients or wider community - you need to first be whole and safe in yourself. If you don't think you are achieving that, you need to find ways to support yourself and ensure the resources you need are available. Or enlist the help of other people, either in your personal life or by consulting a professional. Just as you would show kindness to others today, by asking R U OK?, show yourself that compassion, check in and ask yourself that question, recognize the significance of the answers and seek the help you need. You are WORTH the effort and work it will take to make you feel whole and safe and OK. You DESERVE that time and effort to be spent on you. You can't provide a safe, supportive, nurturing space for others, a devoted and engaged listening ear, and a brain attuned to solutions and encouragement, if you can't first provide yourself with the same level of care and support. Our senior midwife Alana is always reminding me that a tank can only hold so much petrol, and if I give my petrol away to others, without putting anything back in the tank, it will eventually run dry. This is bad news for me, but also bad news for those people who are relying on me, and those who I might otherwise have been able to help. ALWAYS fit your own oxygen mask first, before helping others fit theirs. 21.01.2022 Good Morning Hobart - what a wonderful Winter’s day! We hope you’ve managed to glimpse Kunanyi in all her brilliance today.

21.01.2022 Today is R U OK? day. But really, EVERY day is for checking in with those you love, those you know, or those you think may be struggling. Ask the question t...oday, and then really listen to the answer. Direct them to help in whatever form is available, accessible and acceptable to them. Follow up later to make sure the person is OK. And then ask this of someone every day, every time you suspect the answer is "no - I'm really not OK". Just having someone ask this question can increase our feelings of connectedness and self-worth, both of which are protective against suicide risk. But not everyone who is not OK is contemplating suicide - there are many other ways that mental health issues can manifest, including substance abuse, risk-taking behaviour, social withdrawal, anger.....the list is long. Be aware, be open to the question and the answer, and have a plan of how to help.

21.01.2022 Dr Kirby - you’re an inspiration. Especially important in the challenging year that we’ve had in 2020!

20.01.2022 We so often focus on the female partner’s health during pre conception and consideration of factors that influence fertility - but let’s not forget it takes two to tango! Even if the male partners sperm count is A grade - general health will influence a couples likelihood of success during IVF. We have known for a long time that smoking, obesity and alcohol/drugs can affect sperm health, but there has been a powerful correlation drawn between Male weight/abdominal circumference and likelihood of success in IVF. With every 5cm increase in male abdominal circumference, there is a reducing chance of success with IVF! http://www.essentialbaby.com.au//how-having-a-dad-bod-coul

10.01.2022 THIS is why it’s important to have a wonderful team - we’re all in it together

06.01.2022 Pregnancy does not give licence to comment whatever and whenever you wish. Language is important.

06.01.2022 Hear from our fertility specialist Dr Emily Price on the most recent COVID-19 updates and available treatment options for you at TasIVF.

06.01.2022 I am beyond thrilled to welcome Kate to Eternal Women’s Health. With the addition of a fourth O&G, Eternal are well placed to continue to provide the highest standards of care. Welcome Kate

03.01.2022 In the news today you may have seen reports that another health provider is withdrawing their non-invasive pre-implantation genetic test. We want to reassur...e our patients that this technology has not been used at TasIVF; this news does not affect our patients. We do not use the culture medium approach, at Virtus Health we use the established world-wide genetic testing technique, where a few cells are biopsied from the embryo. Biopsy of the embryo is known to give highly reliable results and is in widespread use globally. We understand today’s news may create anxiety and our experienced team is here to provide you with ongoing support. If you have any further questions contact us on 1800 111 483 or visit our website for more information. See more

02.01.2022 IMPORTANT UPDATE - Consulting Arrangements In an effort to increase my capacity to care for you during your fertility journey, and to consolidate my working week, I have made some changes to my consulting arrangements. For those of you planning a pregnancy in the near future, currently receiving treatment or about to embark on treatment, I have modified how and where I will be consulting. I am not leaving the wonderful team at TasIVF, simply adjusting the way I provide care.... The nursing, laboratory, theatre and administration staff at TasIVF are second to none and I will continue to utilise their support for your Intrauterine Insemination cycles, IVF/ICSI cycles or donor egg/sperm treatment as required. I have worked in the medical suites at TasIVF for 3 years, but from the 17th August 2020 I will be consulting at Eternal Women's Health. This is conveniently located "upstairs" at Level 1, 2 Melville Street HOBART. Outlined below is a summary of the changes I have made. I acknowledge that during this period of transition there may be some teething issues but I hope that as a team we can transition your care smoothly. NEW PATIENTS Initial consultations will be held at my private Obstetric and Gynaecology practice - Eternal Women's Health. Patients who do not yet need, or are not yet ready to have Assisted Reproductive Treatments will have any ongoing fertility care at this location. I can offer investigation of sub-fertility, ovulation induction and cycle tracking at Eternal Women's Health. CURRENT PATIENTS All appointment bookings will be transitioned to Eternal Women's Health. As much as possible we will endeavour to limit changes to appointments, and hopefully minimise any inconvenience to you! If you require ASSISTED REPRODUCTION (such as Intrauterine Insemination or IVF) I will facilitate your care through TasIVF and continue to look after you during the journey from planning to (hopefully) pregnancy. All cycle scanning will be performed at Eternal Women's Health (with me). If you have any administrative or appointment queries please contact the team at Eternal Women's Health on 6220 1350. For clinical enquiries please contact the following: * IVF or IUI treatment - Nursing Team @ TasIVF on 6212 7700 * Ovulation Induction, cycle tracking, investigation of sub-fertility - Dr Emily Price @ Eternal on 6220 1350 As I have probably said to many of you in person - I am still the same person, I will still offer the same type and standard of care - it will just be from a different office! I look forward to seeing you soon, Emily
