23.01.2022 Updated COVID19 Australian projections Note: I consider this to be in the public domain. Feel free to copy, edit, disseminate the charts, data, and code as want...ed. Attribution is appreciated but not necessary. I've updated the data for Australia for today 15/3/2020. The estimate for Easter Sunday has gone up a little bit to ~18,000 (95% prediction interval, 12,000 to 28,000) (assuming exponential growth based on March data). Note: I updated the chart to include 95% prediction intervals at 1430. This is to follow on from the analyses I posted yesterday here: https://www.facebook.com/vitualis/posts/10156788452236366 https://www.facebook.com/vitualis/posts/10156788460141366 I've included on this chart the trajectories of Italy, Norway (for you Bjarte Sørensen), South Korea, and Singapore as a comparison. To understand what I've done, I've shifted their curves so that all countries start at approximately 100 cases on the day when Australia had 100 cases Effectively, most of these countries are "ahead" of us and so give us an indication of the range of things we could experience. (note: the trend lines are local regression curves to smooth out the fluctuations) The thing you will note is that for a few of the countries, there is a steeper initial slope that what we are currently experiencing. This might mean that my estimates are under-estimates. There was a big jump in cases in Australia yesterday so we are possibly going to follow the curve of Italy, Norway, and South Korea at the early stages. You'd note how South Korea's slope has completely flattened off - their control policies are working. We should be like Singapore, however, I doubt our Government has the ability to follow their example in reality. The international data is from the John Hopkins School of Public Health here: https://data.humdata.org//novel-coronavirus-2019-ncov-cases The Australian data is the same as yesterday from the Federal Department of Health. The spreadsheet used in this analysis as the data source for analysis in R is here: https://www.dropbox.com/s/81z0teuevt8c/COVID_AU-world.xlsx

22.01.2022 Dear Patients, This is the new statement from the Australian Society of Plastic Surgeons released today. I have never used textured implants in any of the cosmetic breast augmentation patients. Please feel free to contact my office if you require confirmation or further information regarding this matter. With kindest regards,... Dr Janet huang

20.01.2022 Dear Patients, My clinic remains open at this current time but we have introduced a number of measures to incorporate The Government's Guidelines on Social Distancing. We have reduced the number of chairs in the waiting room so we would really appreciate when you attend a clinic appointment to only bring a maximum of one supporting person if possible.... We have spaced out the appointments slightly so we are able to periodically clean the common areas as well as the consulting room to minimize everyone's risks of being exposed to silent virus carriers. Please arrive as close to the appointment time as possible so upon your arrival you can be seen immediately. Rest assured, there is not currently a single reported positive case in the surrounding suburbs and we will continue to update you if the situations change. Stay healthy and safe. Dr Janet Huang

11.01.2022 Please stay home. "This virus will kill and that's why we are taking it so seriously. It could kill someone you know. They could have caught it from you," Health Minister Steven Miles said.

10.01.2022 It has been a very long 100-day period.... maybe two and a half more of these to go?

10.01.2022 Stay home to save lives. Together we can and will make it. #stayhome

09.01.2022 Queensland had our 6th case on 28/2. Today the number soared to 221. The time to act was yesterday but get on board now - practice social distancing, minimise non-essential outings, keep your kids at home if feasible, protect the most vulnerable individuals of our society, just stay home! Every trip you take, you are taking a risk to get infected and to put your loved ones at risks of infection. Be responsible and together we can keep each other safe.

08.01.2022 Hats off to our postal workers and Australian Post.

05.01.2022 Too much skin showing in the previous version apparently... so this is take 2 and now I feel like i am dressed like an orthopod

04.01.2022 Great interview - this is a war between the global citizens and COVID-19 but there is no need to panic. Be very aware of the infectiousness and the potential lethality of this virus and the containment of this virus is up to us and government mitigation. As individuals, we need to act socially responsibly, not only to realistically assess our own risks but also those who we interact with on a day-to-day basis. Practice good hand hygiene, social distancing and immobilisation. Be sensible and be as prepared as one can be and remember stockpiling hurts the most vulnerable members of our community.

02.01.2022 This is not a bad summary of the current situation in Queensland and this can change very rapidly. Australia is currently where Italy was 2 weeks ago and we have all witnesses how it unfolded very rapidly and tragically over time. Please note - the close contacts with people who tested positive for coronavirus I would consider it falls under community transmission. I also disagree about 80% of people would only have very mild diseases as well as flu is more dangerous for pr...egnant women than coronavirus - I don’t think it is backed up by any statistics. Please practice good hand hygiene, social distancing, avoid large gatherings, get tested or self isolate if in doubt. We are all responsible and have a role in protecting not only ourselves, our loved ones, our community especially the most vulnerable members of our community. #togetherwewillgetthroughthis
