23.01.2022 The Flu vaccine will be available as of next week. It is strongly recommended that all pregnant women, those over 65, health care workers and immunosuppressed get the flu vaccine. It is free from your GP or pharmacy. Check with your GP as to when they have it in their practice. Its also a good idea for those women wanting to fall pregnant to consider getting the vaccine too.

14.01.2022 The new National Cervical Screening Program begins today which will now be HPV based with reflex cytology if high risk HPV positive. Its also World AIDS Day so its a good reminder to women to have a HPV and STD screen at the same time.

12.01.2022 I have always placed great importance on mental health reviews during and after pregnancy and am pleased that the government is considering a proposal to introduce free mental health assessments. We all know that mental health issues are traumatising to the individual and is too often suffered in silence. The highest risk period is postpartum where patient risk being lost to follow up.
