Richmond Road Dental will remain available to our patients for urgent restorative work and dental emergencies for our existing patients only. If you have an appointment booked with us for any procedures that lie outside of these parameters, we will be in contact with you soon to reschedule your appointment for a time after the lockdown ends Thanks in advance for all of your ongoing support and understanding during these covid times, we appreciate it more than words can express Take care and stay safe From the Team at Richmond Road Dental

22.01.2022 To Our Valued Patients, Congratulations Brisbane! Due to everyone's compliance over the three day lock-down, we have had NO new COVID-19 cases arise, and therefore the lock-down will be lifted as of 6pm tonight, Monday January 11th However, it will be mandatory to continue to wear a face mask when in areas where social distancing may be difficult to achieve, including our very own waiting room This enforcement will be in place for a further 10 days until Friday Januar...y 22nd. If you have an appointment booked with us before January 22nd, we ask that you please bring a facemask along for wear in our waiting room only If you think you would feel more comfortable minimising your waiting-room time, please feel free to call us from your car once you have arrived at the practice to let us know you are ready to go, and we will call you back once the treatment room is ready to receive you As always, we will be continuing to ask all patients to wash their hands on arrival at the practice, and to mouthrinse once in the treatment room prior to commencing your dental treatment. Many thanks again for your continued patience and support during these dynamic times From Your Team at Richmond Road Dental
21.01.2022 Obviously we are always trying to avoid toothache, but now it is more important than ever to step up your home oral hygiene regime and minimise sugars and acids in your diet in an attempt to reduce the risk of getting dental issues. Looking forward to seeing you all again once this pandemic has passed https://www.facebook.com/1800011303574036/posts/2677144222527402/

15.01.2022 ANNOUNCEMENT! More wonderful news! Due to Australia’s continued success in controlling the COVID-19 outbreak, restrictions are being lessened further This means that we are now able to provide all dental services to our lovely patients as we once did! Of course, we will still be maintaining social distancing and hand hygiene practices for all patients whilst you are in our shared areas (eg the waiting room), but all dental treatments are now able to carry on as usual. W...e will still be continuing to screen all patients over the phone, and we kindly ask that if you or anyone in your immediate circle are unwell in any way or are feeling any cold or flu-like symptoms to please refrain from coming for your dental treatment until all symptoms have resolved. This is not just to do with COVID-19, but also for our regular cold and flus so that we can keep our staff and other patients healthy. If you had any appointments moved or postponed due to our closure, we will be in contact soon to move your appointment forward if that suits. We are excited to be returning to treating all our lovely patients and are looking forward to catching up with you all again very soon. Remember, it is still important to stick to social distancing recommendations, and to maintain a high level of cough etiquette and hand hygiene to not only allow a continuation of controlling the COVID-19 outbreak, but also to minimise contracting the common cold or this year’s flu-virus. Stay safe and healthy everyone! And see you soon

09.01.2022 Parents, aunties, uncles, and anyone who has children in their lives, have a watch of this adorable cartoon. A dentist mouse!! So sweet. Also available as a book. I find that if children are introduced to what a dental visit entails waaaaaay before they even come to the dentist, the experience is always so much more calm and rewarding. Happy watching https://m.youtube.com/watch?feature=youtu.be&v=x1eA_1onmvo
07.01.2022 We are open and operating. And are following strict protocols to keep you, our staff, and our community safe. We look forward to seeing you all again soon https://www.facebook.com/1800011303574036/posts/2741014262807064/?substory_index=0
03.01.2022 Congratulations Queensland! Because of the decline in new COVID-19 cases in our communities, the heavy restrictions on the provision of dental services has been eased back to ‘Level 2’. Now, ‘Level 2’ will not mean too much to you, so here is a summary of what that looks like: - We will be able to do basic check ups - We may perform simple dental cleans, BUT we can only HANDSCALE your teeth to clean them, not use our ultrasonic scalers. We will most likely continue to delay ...these procedures until all restrictions are lifted to minimise viral exposure. - We can do basic removal of teeth when required, BUT are unable to do SURGICAL or complex extractions and will still have to refer these out to our local oral surgeon specialists - We can do needed restorative work (ie fillings), such as restoring broken teeth or replacing existing fillings, BUT have to do all treatment under what we call a ‘rubberdam’. A rubberdam is a rubber (either latex or non-latex) sheet we put a small hole in and pop the affected tooth through and use a small clamp to keep it in place. This way we can isolate the tooth from the rest of the mouth and minimise the spread of aerosols and saliva. - We can carry out basic denture work and repairs - We can assess any jaw pain or soft tissue / gum issues that you may be experiencing At this stage we will be opening Monday to Friday only and for shorter business hours while we all adjust to this next phase of the COVID-19 pandemic. Any patients that had their appointments delayed may receive a call from one of our lovely reception staff to see if you would like to come in sooner if your required treatment falls under the new practicing guidelines. However, we as a practice will continue to try and play our part in keeping the ‘curve flat’, and will still focus mainly on urgent dental care at this time. We understand that many of you have also been going through hardship (financially, mentally, physically) or may have children you are home schooling at this time, so we understand it may take time before you are able to come in and see us again. In the meantime, continue to follow the governments advice and isolate as much as possible, keep safe distances when out in public, follow good hand hygiene and cough etiquette, and continue to look after your mental and physical health as much as you can. We look forward to seeing you all again soon.
