20.01.2022 TOOTH DECAY & SUGARY DRINKS There are some bacteria in our mouth that feed on sugar and sweet foods. When their food is provided they produce acids that can cause tooth decay. This acid can damage the tooth by dissolving the tooth in itself. Drinking sweetened drinks can contribute towards this action. Regular and ‘diet' soft drinks, sports drinks, energy drinks, fruit juices, fruit drinks and cordials can be mention as some examples of the foods that will strongly contribut...e towards tooth decay. The acid will gradually dissolve the outer surface of tooth enamel which than will cause enormous amount of pain. Things YOU need to do: 1. Decrease the amount of soft drink consumption. 2. Don’t drink soft drinks before sleep. 3. Mouthwash could be useful. 4. Use straw whenever you are drinking a soft drink. Visit https://drreza.com.au See more

10.01.2022 Flossing is an important oral hygiene practice. Tooth decay and gum disease can develop when plaque is allowed to build up on teeth and along the gum line. Interdental cleaning is proven to help remove debris between teeth that can contribute to plaque buildup. It’s never late to start flossing. There are different types of floss, available. 1. Tape floss (also known as ‘dental tape’)... 2. Teflon floss 3. Thread floss 4. Waxed and unwaxed floss 5. Flavoured (e.g. mint) 6. Woven floss These all have the same thing in common: they are soft, flexible and easy to use. Book a check-up with your dentist and ask which type of the floss is the most suitable for you. https://drreza.com.au/
