25.01.2022 Hospital staff at sportsmed were the first in the nation to use BioVigil’s revolutionary proprietary sensing technology for hand hygiene to protect against and ...reduce the risk of healthcare-acquired infections (HAIs) in hospitals. The patented technology, which was installed in our hospital in February, communicates reminders to staff to clean their hands and perform hand hygiene via a badge worn on their clothing, highlighting our dedication to patient safety and trust.

24.01.2022 "In Australia, the only approved stem cell treatment is haematopoietic stem cell transplantation (using stem cells from umbilical cord blood or bone marrow) for the treatment of disorders of the blood and immune system such as leukaemia. Currently, no other stem cell treatment has been demonstrated to be safe and effective. However, some clinics located both in Australia and overseas offer unproven stem cell treatments."

19.01.2022 Many of you have been contacting us regarding your eligibility for surgery and may have questions about what the ease on restrictions means for you. We welcomed... the elective surgery announcement last week allowing surgeries in category 1, category 2 and some category 3, including joint replacements, arthroscopies and diagnostic related procedures the ability to resume. Please understand that we are doing our best to accommodate our sportsmed patients while still working within the capacity restrictions. The new restrictions will be reviewed in 2 weeks’ time and we look forward to giving you a further update then. Thank you for your continued patience. See more

14.01.2022 Registered Nurse, Amba, is just one of the sportsmed team who has been volunteering her time working with a local organisation treating and caring for injured w...ildlife as a result of the recent bushfires. As well as her time, Amba has been taking much needed donated medical supplies with her to assist with the wildlife recovery efforts. We are pleased to be able to continue our support of these wonderful organisations who are doing an amazing job assisting those affected. Our thoughts are with everyone who has been affected and continues to be affected by the fires, as well as the first responders and volunteers.

14.01.2022 The government has allowed the gradual commencement of some elective surgery, however there will still be restrictions on capacity to maximise safety. Please be patient while we work through the practical implications of this over the next few days.
