19.01.2022 Charlie ready for his adjustment! The toddler age is one of the greatest periods of change and reaching milestones for kids. They are constantly becoming more independent. As chiropractors we are looking at the structure of the body, the nervous system and the developmental milestones. Adjusting toddlers is very gentle, and look like stretches or movements that help them to stay on track.

14.01.2022 Keeping the spine healthy and moving is important for your health. Gentle and specific adjustments help the joints and nervous system function at their best. Each adjustment is different depending on the individual. This is an example of what an adjustment might look like.

13.01.2022 Tummy time is one of the most essential parts of infancy development. Babies brains grow and develop in the most wonderful ways thanks to the stimulating play time we do with them. Tummy time is good for normal development, to support energy expenditure during awake times (followed by better sleep), prevention of flat heads (plagiocephaly) and to support good tone.

13.01.2022 Adjusted and ready for a busy week ahead.

12.01.2022 What’s the noise??? People often ask what’s that noise when getting adjusted with a chiropractor. Well...... nothing cracks (we don’t crack backs), so don’t worry. When we adjust the spine the joints release little air pockets that make the popping noise. There is fluid that surrounds the joints, when we adjust that joint, air bubbles form. When the joint is stretched the air bubbles pop resulting in that sound. Adjustments don’t hurt, they help the functionality and mobility of your spine and nervous system.

11.01.2022 90% of the stimulation and nutrition to the brain is generated by movement of the spine - Dr Roger Sperry. - That is, 90% of brain energy goes into processing and maintaining the body’s relationship with gravity. Your brain needs to know where your body is in space. - When there is misalignment or loss of spinal curves, this can cause irritation and lack of movement. Lack of movement = less information to the brain. ... - The curves in your spine protect your spinal canal, brain stem and all the nerves that control everything in your body. - So look after your spinal curves. Keep your chin up, walk tall, don’t sit for too long. Take time to breath, stretch and relax. Remember that motion is lotion. See more

10.01.2022 Sitting on your wallet (sitting with it in your back pocket) has a big impact on your spine. It can tilt your pelvis and impact on the alignment of your back. It adds stress to the joints and nerves throughout your spine, resulting in pain and stiffness. It’s even worse when your wallet is in your back pocket AND you are driving the car - with the added vibration and restriction of movement. Make sure you take your wallet out when you sit down or keep in your side pocket. Your back will thank you

03.01.2022 Hey Everyone. I’m Adrian Foote, a local Tassie boy who is working as a chiropractor at Devonport Chiropractic Centre (99 Forbes St). I grew up here in Devonport and looking forward to working with people in the community. I’ve played a lot of sport along the coast and was a teacher here in town before moving to Melbourne to study chiropractic. I’ve completed further study in paediatric chiropractic to help kids of all ages. I look forward to providing a high quality service and helping the whole of the North-West coast. If you ever have any questions or want more information, then please let me know. .
