17.01.2022 Please note this message from Zonda. Our normal email is not behaving at the moment Dragon Masters Dragon Masters LogoReturn to Paddling ... Dear Members, We are optimistic our club can be back on the water in the bigboats by July 18 th 2020 , and we are working with DBV and the other Hub Clubs to develop and sign off on the agreed procols. To do this we need your help. Firstly we need all members to remove any personal belongings from the common ateasof the hub before Monday, as DBV will remove and bin these items as part of the preparation for cleaning. We also require you to remove your paddles, PFDs , paddle seats etcf from the club cage. You will be required to bring your paddles and PFDs to each training session and take them home again afterwards. We know this will be inconvenient for many of you but this will an essential part of the protocols for us to return to paddling. Importantly members will NOT have access to club paddles and PFDs , so each member is required to have their own paddle and PFD. Please check the club website shop to order PFDs and or/ paddles. Our new members who may not be in a position to do this immediately can contact Richard Chan, who handles the club merchandise for advice. His email details are [email protected] . Once training recommences , members will be required to book in via TeamApp, so please take this time to ensure you are able to access the Team App functions.. We will be able to have 10 paddlers , plus a sweep and coach in each boat and a maximum of two boats per session. To participate you will need to register via Team App by Midday prior to the training sessions so the coaches can set up the seating plan prior to the training session. More details on how each session will be conducted will follow next week. We also require two or three COVID Safety Officers ( CSOs) who can attend training. If you are interested in taking on this role please contact Zonda by email. There is still a lot of work to do but I’m sure we will be ready by the 18 th July. if you have questions please contact me on [email protected] Kind Regards Zonda Lynn President

17.01.2022 The times they are a’changing! From DBV - ... Hi Members, Things change quickly don’t they. On 7th July, we put out COVID Update No:7 to Club Presidents authorising them to submit a ‘Return to Play’ checklist for approval to DBV which would enable clubs to resume training using 10 paddlers in a dragon boat plus a sweep and coach as drummer, in addition to the OK to use Single Craft/TK1s. You will all be aware of the announcements by the Premier in regards to the Stage 3 restrictions to be in place from midnight Wednesday in the Melbourne metro area and the Mitchell Shire. Please see below the Statement from the Premier dated 07 July 2020, and also updated restrictions posted on the department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) website to come in to effect at 11:59pm 08 July. https://www.dhhs.vic.gov.au//coronavirus/statement-premier https://www.dhhs.vic.gov.au/updated-restrictions-1159pm-wed Accordingly, the following restrictions will now be in place for DBV clubs & members in those locations until further notice: The ‘Community Hub at the Dock’ will close for access 11:59pm Wed 8th July for Metro Melbourne clubs/members until advised otherwise. /1’ . The same restrictions apply to the clubs located at Patterson Lakes. Given the restrictions apply to metro Melbourne and that the regional areas of Victoria are not in lockdown we would expect that clubs in these locations can continue to work through their ‘Return to Play’ checklists and submit these to DBV for review and approval so that their members can return to paddling in dragon boats asap. Craig Ryan and I will be involved in a Zoom video conference with Sport & Recreation Victoria and Vic Sport tomorrow (9th) if there are any changes to the arrangements relating to regional clubs arising from this we will communicate to DBV clubs and members asap. Regards, , , .
