20.01.2022 WHAT BEING A DRAGON MEANS TO ME.....a little insight from our fabulous ROBYN Being a Dragon I was diagnosed with BC in 2013 and went seeking information about support groups on the internet ... I found my tribe. I had always loved dragons so the Dragons Abreast girls were a target for me - a goal to reach for. I went down to the Strand to watch them when I had finished treatment, even though I was not yet allowed to paddle ... I even put my name down and paid a deposit to ...travel with them to Sarasota USA. But my odyssey took me through MRSA (Golden Staff), two broken ankles and a broken hand before finally finding my way back to the Dragons in 2019. I still recognised a few faces from the six years before ... but they were still the amazing bunch of people who I knew would be there if I ever needed them. I still have a few health issues, so unfortunately, I am not paddling at the moment but looking forward to it soon. See more

04.01.2022 Sadly this week we said goodbye to one of our foundation members, Michele Hyde. Michele had been an enthusiastic member until just a couple of years ago when she experienced a re-diagnosis. She remained connected to many of our long term members and would dearly have loved to be out on the water with us. we extend our love and best wishes to her family and close circle of friends and many work colleagues.
