04.01.2022 Drama Australia Director of Publication Sue Davis is currently working with a number of other academics to research the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on teaching practices. She has a particular interest on how performing arts teachers are negotiating these times and invites all drama teachers to complete the survey. We look forward to hearing about the findings later in the year! You are invited to participate in a research study about ‘Teaching and Learning during COVID 1...9 Times’. https://tinyurl.com/TeachinginCOVID The COVID-19 pandemic has changed education dramatically. The impact on teaching and learning is global, urgent and likely to alter education practices from this point onwards. We are interested to hear your stories of how you have negotiated these changes and invite you to take part in an online survey. The survey seeks to document and analyse changing education practices to produce reports, case studies, guides and other resources to support teaching and learning through the COVID-19 socially restrictive national, state and institutional rulings. Taking part in this study is completely voluntary. Your responses will be anonymous. The survey invites you to share ‘stories’ and artefacts from your practice so you may wish to think about that before completing the survey. The study is being conducted by Associate Professor Louise Phillips (James Cook University), Dr Chris Campbell (Griffith University), Associate Professor Susan Davis (Central Queensland University), Dr Melissa Cain (Australian Catholic University), Dr Kate Coleman (University of Melbourne), Dr Geraldine Burke (Monash University), Associate Professor Jenny Ritchie (Victoria University, Wellington), Professor Cynthia Brock (University of Wyoming), and Dr Esther Joosa (Independent Researcher, Singapore). The project has approval from the James Cook University Human Research Ethics Committee (approval no. H8090).

02.01.2022 A fantastic article by Benjamin Law! In our most dire hours, art keeps us sane, lights the dark and ensures we stay human.

02.01.2022 Please see the following information regarding the Drama Australia National Conference, 2020VISION, and COVID-19. Following the advice of the Australian Government and health organisations, the Drama Australia National Conference 2020VISION, will still take place from April 16th to 18th 2020. This is in line with the below recommendations regarding public events:... 1. Public events should proceed as planned, as the risk to the general population from COVID-19 is low 2. People that are unwell with cough or fever or other respiratory symptoms should not attend public events or gatherings 3. People who have been in close contact of a confirmed case of COVID-19, or who returned from or transited through a listed higher risk country, must not attend public gatherings until 14 days after leaving the country or having contact with a confirmed case even if they are completely symptom free. These recommendations are consistent with previous "business as usual" messages conveyed by the federal Chief Medical Officer and state and territory governments. Further to this, refunds to tickets purchased for the conference will only be refunded in the case that a delegate must self-isolate due to COVID-19. If a delegate chooses to not attend the event, no refund will be offered. Hand washing facilities and hand sanitiser will be available throughout the venue. Thank you for your understanding and we look forward to seeing you at 2020VISION!
