07.01.2022 So I sat & had a heart to heart with my DB cherubs last week. Explaining how hard it was to stop drama classes & the reasons. I asked if anyone wanted to speak about their feelings? I had one child say sad emoji face & exclamation mark then another said sad emoji face & 5 exclamation marks .. followed by another hand up ? Sad emoji face & infinity exclamation marks. Guess they’ve been learning to be poetically expressive!!?

07.01.2022 It’s with a most heavy heart that I announced today, the curtain call for Dramatic Beginnings. Not something I wanted to do.. but needed to do. I have a new & challenging full time role working with young people & am mindful of keeping the balance & energy my son needs from me, as single parent. I can’t put into words the feelings. There’s the children who truly inspire my heart & imagination each week, that it’s my sons favourite after school activity ever (& we got to ...do it together) , the incredible parent community (now friends) who have supported & believed so much in me, the passion & belief I have in drama as a tool to build valuable life skills in children & that DB was created out of nothing & became ... something, to me & others. All the more, it was important to me to leave things on a high note, which the program, children & parents deserve I have many parental accounts of their children doing things they never dreamed for the skills & confidence DB has brought them. Others who deem it their favourite thing of the week. Last week I received a video from a beautiful mum whose gorgeous daughter had a few terms last year at DB , she has just started prep & within a few weeks was standing in front of entire school speaking at assembly! Her speech was clear & beautifully delivered. Just like she learned in class!! . Her ability to stand & address a crowd!? I don’t know many adults who could. Her mum credited the DB program for such a feat. This sort of feedback has made me thankful for the year we did have ! That the children found something in them that can’t be taken away ..,a belief that they can back themselves As regretful & sad as I am tonight for the loss I will feel (it is a big loss for me). I am lifted by the year that has been Dramatic Beginnings. There are 3 weeks left. A presentation night & party up ahead to celebrate the children’s commitment & achievement. This page will remain open as I’m hoping to run some one off holiday workshops & special events in the near future. A special thank you to each of you who have supported DB via this page.
