12.01.2022 I want to share a story... A very true story and one that is very dear to my heart.... and the major reason why I created this page. Not that long ago I was sharing a beer with a very close friend of mine... One I have know for a few years and I thought I knew well. What he told me blew me away!!!!!!!!!... He said that he was thinking about killing himself. He had become so depressed that the only out for him was to take his own life.... I was floored.... Someone I though I new well and didnt know he was struggling with depression let along to the point that he wanted to end it all... Now while that wasn't so much of a shock it was what he said next that really took my by surprise and humbled me into tears.... When he was having these thoughts he saw my posts.... It looked at the image and he looked and read the words behind them... I knew that he was bigger than that and he knew that calling out for help was not a weakness but a sign of strength... He picked up the phone and called for help..... He at that point changed his path... He changed it and the path of his family and kids away from what was going to be very dark days to follow.. He decided to make a change and to look forward in life and know that he can and does make a difference in the lives of others... It was for me surreal... that my images and post did exactly what I wanted them to do...... and that is save lives.... I do not do this because of the shock factor, I do not do this because it is something I enjoy... I do this and make these images to help others... So that others know that they are not alone... We are never alone as there is always someone out there to help... It just takes us to take the first step and to be open to help... We all suffer from time to time and we all need help... but to actually do it takes real guts.... and it take a real man to be able to stand up and admit he needs help... I know from talking with others that these images have helped and saved lives but this was different.... It was someone that I know.. it was someone that I respect and it was someone that I love dearly... It really drove home about the importance of suicide prevention and the awareness of the risks... Us as men need to understand that it is not the weak that ask for help is the weak that do not ask. <3 http://www.beyondblue.org.au/
