15.01.2022 A frustrated pianist, a heated argument, getting caught in the rain, missing the bus these were some of the Year 3-6’s ‘Silent Scenarios’ this week, as they worked on communicating clear meaning to an audience using only facial expressions, movement and gestures. As Part #3 of our Mime Unit, students took part in the Great Run ‘N Mime, with lots of non-verbal communication and problem-solving required to get the message across to their team members. How do you mime a koala, for example? Try it at home, it’s not as easy as it sounds!

06.01.2022 What do kids get out of drama?

01.01.2022 This week, Junior Drama Skills explored characterisation through the beautiful book "Millicent", by Jeannie Baker. Students used the drama technique 'Human Sculpting' to mould their partner into characters from the story, then brought them to life with short movement sequences. Drama is an incredible tool to explore literature more deeply, through embodiment and enactment.
