24.01.2022 What’s the black stuff??!? A few people have asked. It’s black tahini! Slightly richer flavour than traditional tahini and made from black sesame seeds. I got it from an organic shop ... I think @flannerysorganic Can recommend. And as I’ve said before, tahini is a good non dairy source of calcium
24.01.2022 Lamb shoulders ready for the oven with minced garlic, mixed turmeric spice blend, fennel seeds and fresh organic rosemary homegrown by Dr Ada Tam @clayfieldmedicalcentre this will be tasty in a few hours @ Brisbane, Queensland, Australia
24.01.2022 My #crazysocks4docs ready for today beautiful combo summing up my love for my job being a GP @the_racgp
23.01.2022 Et voila! Spaghetti squash cooked. It was a little underdone as I cut the cook time short to go for a beach walk, so have put back in the oven once spaghetti’d for a little bit. Taste is mild and would go well with pasta sauce, pesto or just as an accompaniment otherwise. A ‘low carb’ alternative to spaghetti with less than 10g carbohydrates per 100g, also high in fibre

08.01.2022 Fun start to #GP20Connect Conference this year on Zoom. Missing being there in person!. It’s been a pilgrimage of sorts for me the past 6 years. Great to see familiar faces and even learn some astronomy Thanks team at @the_racgp for mobilising to this format so we can still ‘meet up’ this year
08.01.2022 Getting set up for the morning with a cuppa. T2 Peppermint today in my Secret Santa mug from last year. I dont do well with caffeine so bright and light mint is where its at for me today Herbal teas can be a great drink instead of coffee if youre trying to cut down. Something warm and yummy. Theres so many blends available these days! NB Green tea has quite a bit of caffeine which people may not know if youre trying to avoid
08.01.2022 Meal prep. Busy weeks for my partner and I so cooking up some roast veggies to go in the fridge This ones a mix of Brussel sprouts, broccoli, purple sweet potato, eggplant and beetroot. Drizzle with garlic olive oil, fennel or cumin seeds (or both) and sprinkle turmeric for deliciousness later on. Enjoy!!
08.01.2022 #Ceremony - I love the feeling of setting the table. To sit down with whoever it may be and enjoy the richness of their company
07.01.2022 Heading for Taco night at a friends and also made this for a picnic party today - guacamole cream! Avocados blended with fresh coriander, splash of garlic flavoured olive oil and cracked pepper and squeeze of lemon. Wizzed in the NutriBullet ! Super easy
07.01.2022 Here is the kindly gifted spaghetti squash entering into its menu phase I struggled to halve it due to not having the best knives in our holiday rental - drizzled in oil with cracked pepper and into the oven on 200 deg for 30-40 mins. Seeds set aside for Dr Ada Tam’s garden! Will post after shots later
07.01.2022 Enjoying a lovely break with friends/family The sun came out as requested !!
07.01.2022 Someone asked me for this recipe... that I didnt get around to posting. Enjoy! Ps also garnished with chopped baked fennel and chilli #greensoup #winterwarmer @ Brisbane, Queensland, Australia
06.01.2022 Whats this bundle of fun? A bowel cancer screening kit for my step-Mum. Our family dinner conversation always ends up with poo somehow. Id heard a few people put off by the process and not seen a kit before so was great to see one actually. I encourage everyone over 50 to do so, even if not the most fun for everyone #bowelcancerawareness
06.01.2022 Meal prep and kitchen clean out Sunday well spent listening to some webinars about poo! One of my favourite topics Second pic is barramundi pieces with mixed herbs, cracked pepper and sprinkle of ground cumin, garlic olive oil, and a sprinkle of minced garlic. Baked on 180 deg for about 1/2 hour and turned halfway through #weekendfood #weekendlearning #fridgecleanse @ Brisbane, Queensland, Australia
05.01.2022 Joy-full New Year! Looking forward to seeing all of you and the growth that is possible in the next 12 months. So much !
05.01.2022 Are you on a Low Fodmap diet? Its a diet used in treating/supporting IBS (irritable bowel syndrome). For any uncomfortable or abnormal bowel symptoms, its always good to see your GP to rule out any nasties. Dieticians are a great support to make sure you are getting the nutrition you need when you need to make adjustments to your diet. Heres some tips from Nutrition Wisdom
04.01.2022 Watching my man at work today Glad its him and not me up there !!
03.01.2022 Celery juice! Not so great for IBS but may be better if you have certain food chemical intolerances... ask the expert Nutrition Wisdom PS my sister Louisa is owner and manager.
03.01.2022 Whiting fish cakes tonight - simply blended the fish with fresh Thai basil (on special for $1 on the almost gone table at the fruit and veggie shop), hand full of chopped spring onion and few tsps chopped garlic, sprinkle of dried herb mix. @alchimiste8 have some of my favourites. This one featured a dusting of La Merguez. Shaped into balls then pan fried. About 500g whiting made this many. Served with water spinach stir fried with garlic. One of my favourites from our local Asian grocery store #healthyrecipes #delish @ Brisbane, Queensland, Australia
03.01.2022 Tonight is lamb burger night (lamb mince in lettuce leaves) and I like to get creative with the fillings. Here we have some rocket, spinach and watercress thats was on its last days in the fridge with garlic and some gorgeously vibrant radicchio - a good source of vitamin K and antioxidants. Eat raw or stir fry like this! #healthyeating #glutenfree #veggies
03.01.2022 Looking at snack options - upper being rice crackers, lower being seed crackers. Difference in carbohydrates per 100g is a lot (and so is the fat, I know). I spend a lot of time talking to people about ways to change their diets and especially lower their carbohydrate intake and increase healthy fats. Swapping rice crackers for seed crackers is a great way to do this! #snacks #healthyeating
02.01.2022 See the link below for this one! Article up today with my approach to healthy eating and being a doctor #healthyeating #doctorshealth #doctorsofinstagram Thanks for asking Medworld #WorldFoodDay #worldfoodday2020 https://www.medworld.com//dr-amelia-stephens-talks-food-on
