25.01.2022 It’s been 6 years building and running our little mobile vet business! How Time flies! It seems like a distant memory when @dralisonshen and I were busy running our vet hospital and we came up with the CRAZY idea to set up a consult room on wheels! We launched AMV at a time when mobile vetting was under developed in Australia... It was a job that was overlooked by a lot of vets and considered difficult, hard to do well and potentially dangerous for young women! ... Boy did we change things @dralisonshen! We built a business model to be proud of and a team of strong women to support each other! I couldn’t be more proud of everyone in our AMV family and AMV nursing division! It’s been a crazy experience to share what we do with the world on @bondi_vet It’s taken some time to get use to seeing my face on the screen and admittedly there are still times I cringe being my critical self! But nothing will compare to the reward of being able to share the wonderful work vets and vets nurses do everyday. Like I always say.. Despite all the challenges of raising girls, she is the absolute sunshine of all of our lives.. Super chilled, easy going, loving and care free. ... . She is the best of both of us. I said goodbye to one of my longest and favourite patients recently and have been missing visiting these clients....It was such a warm surprise to see them again to start a new journey with little Ted ... 12.01.2022 My beautiful little Matty When you are in the profession of saving others there will be days you have to console yourself that you cant save everything. We lost one of my absolute favourite kangaroo patients this week, he was a little fighter and Im grateful he fought for as long as he did. ... Sometimes being a good vet means constantly reminding yourself of the good you do. It is impossible to save everything. Its not fluffy babies and cuddles all day in our profession... but its a job that makes a difference to so many everyday. Sending love to every vet and vet nurse out there.. Shes been by my side from the very beginning and through thick and thin @milas_club sent me something so special to keep her close to my heart always. She may be 14 years old, with epilepsy and liver issues... (Lucky Mum is a vet) but she will always be my first baby girl till the end

06.01.2022 Back to Sydney after a busy weekend @possumwood_wildlife with our beloved patients there. Its been a whirlwind weekend with the place buzzing with adorable joeys and many so many patients to attend to After a long day of treatments and surgery we lost our beautiful Genevieve and Gumnut and it broke my heart ... Thanks to my beautiful team who pick each other up and carry on the good work we do here always. We save so many but it still hurts to lose the few. The work here is hard, emotional and endless, but the love and people here overcome all of that. Our hospital is being built and Im excited to be able to provide better care and facilities for all our patients here. 02.01.2022 If people could only see what I see.... We live in a country full of unique and beautiful wildlife.. As wild as they are it always surprises me how much they embrace our help and love... It’s taken 15 years of being a Veterinarian for me to reach these beautiful creatures and I realise now how much I misunderstood them...... I believe we continually learn new things so we can be better and we can do better. I choose to do better by our wildlife moving forward in my career I’ve dedicated so much this year to this work and in a few weeks our Wildlife Hospital opens @possumwood_wildlife sanctuary I’m so excited to bring my awesome team of vets, nurses and animal rehab therapists down for the opening! Excited and ever grateful to have a weekend of heart work.. helping our beautiful wildlife @possumwood_wildlife ... We are on the way to building a beautiful Wildlife Rehab Hospital @possumwood_wildlife... This place will be a sanctuary for our precious injured wildlife, as well as a much needed triage hospital for any future #bushfires. 01.01.2022 Today a friend sent me a message detailing all the businesses that are struggling to survive in the current worldwide Pandemic. Great businesses are closing, previously successful business models are struggling and many friends are losing their jobs. These are crazy times and I am so grateful for the little business Alison and I founded 6 years ago. ... Im lucky we remain an essential service and we can still operate a mobile business because our Consult Rooms in Vans allow us to still bring Pet-Only-Consults outside peoples homes safely We have a great supportive positive team.. we have great clients and patients and I have amazing business partner hospitals... We are lucky to be in a country fighting hard to beat this pandemic
