15.01.2022 The most advanced Gynaecological surgery now in terms of keyhole surgery is robotic surgery. We are very proud in Geelong to have this technology available at ...St John of God Hospital, Geelong. The technique for this surgery has two pathways, either as a multi-site procedure where the operation is done through four holes in the abdomen or the more advanced technique which is the single site operation where I open an incision of about 2 cms in the belly button and perform the entire surgery through this incision. The benefit of this last approach is that it leads to quicker and less painful recovery. Cosmetically it is more appealing. So far, the feedback from the patients regarding recovery is extremely rewarding. Below are videos of the two techniques that are presented by Colleagues in the United States of America.
