25.01.2022 FREE ONLINE CONSULTATIONS When I closed clinic a few weeks ago, I didn’t realise that so many people would be stood down from their jobs in the coming weeks. I was focussed on the spread of the virus, and hadn’t considered that entire industries would disappear, along with their workers. I am now offering free online consultations from now until my clinic is open again. This is for all current patients and new patients. Consultations may include:... -guasha routines -acupressure -dietary advice -lifestyle recommendations -topical medicine (charges apply) -Chinese herbal prescriptions (charges apply) Consultations will be available Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays. Online bookings open now. Stay safe

23.01.2022 SEED Chinese Medicine will be donating 10% of all profits for the months of January and February, 2020, to WIRES and Wildlife Victoria

17.01.2022 First off, THANK YOU to all my patients who are wearing masks to appointments. I truly appreciate it, and so do all the other patients who enter the clinic space. I’ve had a few patients ask me about cloth mask alternatives, so here’s is a list of LOCALLY MADE cloth masks from sewing geniuses right at our doorstep! Swipe to see masks that we have available right here in the inner west:... @eastofafrica @mylittlemomohandmade @twincollective_kids @ziapazzaheadwear @madbagss @chilularose @ownsitbyanna See more

16.01.2022 FACE MASKS AND COVID-19: It’s been a while now that the information given to the general public has been that face masks should only be used by medical staff and confirmed cases to stop the spread. This hasn’t been sitting well with me for a while, because during times when there is not a global shortage of face masks, there have never been such recommendations to contain the spread of viruses. Before I continue, let me say that I am NOT saying to hoard face masks or to buy ...them in bulk or to buy hospital grade masks. Chemists have begun selling masks again, and the prices are incredibly high compared to a few months ago. It’s not price gouging, it’s to dissuade people from buying 50 of them. What I am saying is get ONE per household. One. For that one time per week that one member goes out grocery shopping, they can wear the mask. The reasons I think we should be wearing face masks while going shopping are: 1: a mask is a good visual reminder to physically distance yourself from other shoppers. It’s easy to walk into a grocery store and forget we’re in a global pandemic and start thinking about what you want to cook for dinner. A mask is a gentle, non verbal reminder to everyone who looks at you to be mindful of social distancing. 2: the idea that only confirmed cases should wear masks doesn’t add up because we know that the incubation period can be up to 2 weeks, and during this time the unknowingly sick person is out infecting others. If everyone acts as though they are a confirmed case, because some of us right now DO have it and don’t know, then the spread will be contained a little more. 3: wearing a mask will stop you touching your face. Wearing a face mask is incredibly annoying, the majority of us never wear them in our day to day lives and it’s infuriating, itchy, uncomfortable and constantly on your mind. You won’t absentmindedly touch your face because you are very mindful of your face while wearing a mask. Finally, you don’t need to wear an actual ‘mask’. I have seen shoppers wear bandanas, silk scarves, snoods, hair bands. For the visual reminder alone, all of these things work just as well!

12.01.2022 You can expect me to never be racist. You can expect to be treated the same as every other patient. You can expect to be called out by me, on the spot, if you say anything racist. I don’t care that you are paying me, or that you might choose to not return to me.... You can expect me to not refer you to practitioners who are racist, or prejudiced in any way. Those practitioners are not on my referral list; I actively boycott them. You can expect that I will regularly discuss your skin colour and tone in relation to your skin’s melanin production and how that relates to your acne scars and post inflammatory hyperpigmentation and erythema. You can expect to feel completely comfortable with these conversations This is not the post I thought I was going to be creating during Reconciliation Week. If you have any questions at all about this, feel free to contact me

12.01.2022 CLINIC IS CLOSED UNTIL COVID-19 IS UNDER CONTROL. So I’ve had a long, hard think about this and I cannot safely treat patients face to face. 97% of positive coronavirus patients take up to 11.4 days to show symptoms, and until that time they are spreading it around unknowingly. I have patients who are elderly, immunocompromised, have severe comorbidities, and are pregnant. For all I know, I could be carrying it and infect them.... For this reason, I have decided to close clinic until at least the end of March, but possibly much longer given the international trajectory of this pandemic. In the meantime, I will be scheduling online appointments for those patients who require herbs, topical medicine or dietary and lifestyle advice. Much love to you all, stay safe, and protect your mental health during this time

09.01.2022 ONLINE SHOPPING? Given the upcoming lockdown, I’m thinking online shopping is going to explode. I’ve created a guide to cleaning your parcels and anything else coming into your home from outside. First things first, let’s get the doubt out of the way. Yes, this is actually necessary. This is why other countries where the virus has progressed are cleaning the streets and sidewalks, and playgrounds and public toilets are closed. The exact number of hours that it lives on surfac...es vary between 12-72 hours, depending on what type of surface it is. This is why it’s so incredibly contagious, if it was just a matter of avoiding people’s sneezes it wouldn’t have gotten anywhere near this big. To err on the side of caution, I’ll be assuming that the virus will be alive on all surfaces for 72 hours, or 3 days. WHAT YOU WILL NEED: -bleach -cold tap water -a plastic or glass container with a lid (like a large lunchbox) -face washers / cloth wipes / clean old tshirt cut into squares -metric measuring teaspoon and measuring cup (250mls) -gloves -a well ventilated area, preferably outside A note on the fact that you need bleach... you need a tiny amount. A teaspoon. If you don’t have any, ask your friends and family if you can have a teeny tiny bit. Please don’t go out and buy bottles of bleach, it’s unnecessary. 1-read the back of your bleach bottle to check what percentage sodium hypochlorite it is. Most are 5%, but some are 2.5%. The ratio of bleach to water at 5% is 1:100, so at 2.5% it’s 1:50. 2- pop on your gloves and pour your bleach and cold water into the container. If your bleach is 5%, that’s one teaspoon of bleach to 500mls of water. If your bleach is 2.5%, that’s one teaspoon of bleach to 250mls of water. 3- place your cloth wipes in the bleach solution. To ensure they all get wet, pick up all the wipes and turn them upside down in the container so the wettest ones are on top. 4- pop the lid on and go. When you receive a package, get rid of any paper or cardboard into your recycling, and wipe everything else that you’re bringing into your home with the bleach wipes. You can wash the wipes with your whites or anything really, the bleach is very dilute and won’t ruin clothes. A reminder to always use cold water, and use gloves to protect your hands. If you don’t want to go to all this trouble, leave your parcels untouched for 3 days. As long as they’re stored somewhere where no one will accidentally touch them, give them 3 days and then you should be fine. If you’re confused about any of this, feel free to DM me! Everyone is doing an amazing job at self isolating, see everyone’s posts and positivity is making a difference in our community

08.01.2022 ALL IDEAS WELCOME! If any of my patients have any suggestions on what they would like to see in clinic to make you feel comfortable with face to face treatment, let me know! I’m open to all of your ideas. One patient suggested that I offer pre-payment of their appointment to avoid touching the EFTPOS/HICAPS machine; done! Now, when you book your appointment online you are given the option to pay online and claim later through your private health insurance.... If you have any ideas, send me a message and I’ll brainstorm with you how I can make it work

07.01.2022 Every patient I’ve been seeing this year needs help with asthma, asthma-like symptoms, eye irritation, cough, phlegm, and blocked pores and skin. Keep on top of your symptoms and let people around you know how you’re feeling and what you’re experiencing, so they can help if they need to!

05.01.2022 SEED will be reopening June 1st! Your safety and that of other patients is paramount, so appointments will be running very differently. Appointments will be spaced out so there is no waiting in the foyer area.... We will not be accepting cash payments at this time. Bianca will be wearing a mask and encourages all patients to also wear a mask. We will also have surgical masks available in clinic for $1 if you don’t have one. Once in your treatment room, you can immediately lie down on the treatment bed and your consultation will begin. This is to avoid sharing the consultation chair with other patients. All linen and towels will be changed between patients. Online appointments will still be available for patients who are unsuitable to come into clinic. This includes patients who have or live with someone who has the following symptoms: -sore throat -cough -shortness of breath -tightness in chest -chest pain -fever -chills or night sweats -feeling generally unwell -anosmia (lack of sense of smell) If you have any questions or concerns about the new changes to clinic, please do not hesitate to DM me or email [email protected] To book a face to face appointment in clinic, click on the BOOK button now.

02.01.2022 HOW TO SANITISE FOOD: Nagi from RecipeTin Eats has done an amazing post on how to safely clean and sanitise food. Again, just a reminder that the virus lives on surfaces for up to 3 days, so this is very necessary. SUMMARY:... -Wash all fresh produce in warm soapy water -Only eat cooked foods to be extra cautious -For the vulnerable extra precaution wash all food jars and packets, and personal hygiene items that will touch your face -Skip takeout from fast food joints. Support local restaurants by asking for takeaway food you can reheat at home. For the whole post, check out the link in my bio
