10.01.2022 People often get a job based on advice from others or their financial needs without much consideration of what they will thrive in... 50-75% of people are dissa...tisfied with their work - this creates stress for the individual and the business! When they are stressed, instead of changing jobs to something that is less stressful, they look to manage their stress in other ways - exercise, nutrition, meditation, new relationships. They often do these things on the advice of others, or based on the social media testimonials they have observed - the wrong advice for you creates stress. Even exercise can be a stress when applied inappropriately. People are constantly looking to reduce stress but they forget about the cause of the stress for their unique body. We are all different, and need something different to everybody else in order to reduce our stress They get so stuck in a job that isn’t designed for them, Eating food from a diet that isn’t designed for them Doing exercises that aren’t specific to their needs Meditating in a way that just causes more anxiety or frustration The problem...we choose a job, a box, that someone else has designed, and to manage the stress of that box, we then get other experts to design other boxes for us that guide our food, exercise, mental state etc. It’s time to do something that is designed for us and our biology - if we don’t we are doomed, and that creates stress However, provide the right environment, the most appropriate food and movement, mindfulness that relaxes your unique biology and all of a sudden our stress will release, and recovery can begin. 07.01.2022 Minimising stress and maximising performance by doing the thing that comes naturally... One of the greatest stresses when on the path to performance comes from benchmarking yourself on the methods of others. You might be trying to get the same result as someone else, however, HOW you get there will be the thing that makes or breaks you during the journey. It’s your natural strengths that will determine whether the method you have chosen is going to break you down or build you... up Where do the effects of working in your natural strengths show up? Everywhere! If you body naturally digests certain foods poorly, eating those foods is playing against your natural strengths If you are built with light joints, a smaller amount of muscle and a more delicate skeletal structure, lifting very heavy weights will leave you prone to greater injury risk, while endurance activities or lighter weights will lessen this risk. Vice versa for a body that is more strongly built If you are an early bird, waking up or working late will cause sluggishness, while early rising for a night owl creates social jet lag, fatigue and can contribute to disease Working on spreadsheets all day when you brain just wants to be in front of people creates stress. Or trying to manage people when you prefer to work in isolation does the same thing. Sitting in an environment that is air conditioned when you are more sensitive to the cold can be fatiguing and irritating, while another person may experience relief in that environment. The above are all HOWs of your work, your path, your journey. Get the combination right and expect to experience an ease of flow. The more you get wrong, the more stress you will experience, the more strain you’ll experience as your body is taken away from the environment that allows you to express your strengths easily. HOW you get there is directed by the characteristics that are unique to you, start taking notice of the little things. Instead of assuming difficulties and grinding is you not being good at something, but rather as an indicator that you aren’t doing in the way that maximises your strengths. Working in your strengths allows you to create a maximum result with the minimum effort. Just picture Usain Bolt with his arms outstretched and smiling 70m into a 100m race, versus the slight discomfort that occurred the whole time he was playing soccer. A legend, when in flow. Think about this when deciding on your optimal environment, your natural strengths and how they are matched to what you do and what you are trying to achieve...it matters.
