23.01.2022 Want to create and healthier (and happier) you? You’re not alone. There are so many people wanting to eat better, exercise more and get healthier but either a) don't know where to start or b) find it hard to stay accountable and 'stick with it'. As I've mentioned before I'm very GO HARD when it comes to building new habits.. but sometimes it's hard to maintain that initial enthusiasm - especially if you're going it alone.... At the end of the day, you end up going back to less than ideal habits, and feel frustrated that you didn't stick with it! You need to have a DESIRED OUTCOME (i.e. actually know what it is you want to achieve) - and it has to be REALISTIC!! And you need ACCOUNTABILITY - someone or a 'tribe' who will cheer you on and celebrate your successes with you (and pick you up after your setbacks). If you want to know more about the 6 week challenge to a HEALTHIER, HAPPIER YOU, then DM me to go on the mailing list to get updates. 2020 has been a real kick in the bum. Let's go into 2021 forming some healthy habits that will help us to weather whatever life hands us!!

21.01.2022 When you find yourself saying ‘I should...’, I want you to stop and change the story. I choose to.... I want to.... I am going to....... I can’t wait to.... The words ‘I should’ are soul-destroying

12.01.2022 Trauma is not something we can just meditate our way out of... though don’t underestimate the power of meditation But dealing with trauma? It takes some work

11.01.2022 Journal therapy is something I practice and something I recommend regularly. Getting that ‘stuff’ out of your head and onto paper is so important!!!

10.01.2022 How I prioritised nutrition in my life. I didn't always use to care so much about food quality. When I was younger, I did what a lot of people do and just ate whatever I wanted and didn't really put much thought into it. As I got older (and then had kids) I always knew it was important and something I needed to dedicate time and effort towards, but time and energy kept getting in the way. Dinner was often a rushed affair (and I wasn't really motivated to cook anything too e...xtravagant when the kids were little because chances are they wouldn't eat it!!). So how DO I manage to maintain good nutritional practices while running a business and raising two teenagers (and a furry baby!), as well as doing the 1000 other things that need doing every day? PLANNING! I've said it before and I'll say it again, if good food is in your fridge and prepared - you are less likely to reach for a chocolate biscuit. oh and don't put chocolate biscuits in your cupboard - that way you can't eat them ;) Top Three Tips: Buy all your shopping on the weekend and spend Sunday afternoon chopping fruit, prepping vegetables for dinners, and portioning meats/proteins into meal sized portions. (put the music up loud or a good movie on the television and enjoy the process!) Consider subscribing to a meal delivery service such as Hello Fresh, Dinnerly or Marley Spoon for example - you don't HAVE to stay with them forever but they are great a few nights a week or as a way to get into good food habits. Buy a good meal planner and map out what you're eating for the week (including lunches - if you prep more dinner than you need - voila, you have lunch the next day!!!) If you need accountability or help sticking towards your goals, send me a DM so we can discuss! Soon we'll be setting up a 6 week membership challenge to a healthier, happier you where we will have others in a FB group that we can be accountable to!!

10.01.2022 I don’t know about you, but this year has been a challenge! (Understatement of the year anyone?) ...... and I’ve taken some steps towards some bigs goals. I’ve always struggled with ‘needing’ to know HOW I’m going to get to my end point, and then I remember something my gorgeous sister sent me a few years ago.... Just know the NEXT STEP. Take the first step. Then you can figure out what comes next. ... What FIRST STEP can you take towards your big goal?

08.01.2022 This is so incredibly true - control is an illusion. let it go

08.01.2022 So last week I posted about the importance of THE BASICS. Eat. Sleep. Move... and REPEAT..... Most of us don't get this right all the time - I know there's been periods of my life that I haven't managed to get all of these happening at once (or any of them sometimes haha). Other times I'll be doing amazingly on my food and nutrition but I'm not getting much exercise. And that's ok. We're aiming to just make small improvements in each of these areas - just enough to convince your brain that in fact it makes you feel better. Once you start doing that, believe me, you'll WANT to keep going. So let's start with EAT. Good food and nutrition. Working within the boundaries of what works for you (for e.g. maybe you're coeliac, or don't tolerate dairy, or you're vegetarian or vegan.) The important thing is to figure out what works for you and what doesn't. The best way to do this is to PLAN. As a mum of two, I know I'm nutritionally at my best when I plan out my shopping, and do some prep on the weekends - if I don't, we're left scrambling during the week, tired and worn out - and more often than not we order takeaway. So step 1 on the road to better nutrition - PLANNING! Also, might I suggest you head over to Linc Nutrition and follow their stuff. Liz has some great hints and tips on the best ways to eat healthy to improve both your mind and body! Yum! Dr Carla

03.01.2022 My heart is with NZ tonight. Lockdown again in NZ as community transmission rears it’s ugly head. Victorian Premier declaring it may be years before ‘normal’ is ‘normal’ again. Discussions with clients today as we discuss ‘Learning how to deal with ever constant change and new info’ and ‘letting go of being in control of things you can’t control’... 2020 you’re an interesting year for personal growth

02.01.2022 3 days from the very centre of our year (whew and what a year huh??!).. and I decided to start sharing with you my daily gratitude practice. This practice of gratitude has got me through some tough times.. marriage breakdown, financial difficulties, and just some really all round tough times. I’d love if you want to, share your own gratitudes each day ... ***************** 2020 Gratitude Challenge ~ Day 180: I am actually so grateful that I began this 2020 gratitude challenge in a year that would turn out to be a year that we all needed to focus on gratitude. It’s been a tough year, there’s no denying, and it’s not necessarily all over... but if my life has taught me anything... it’s that rising to the challenges... that’s what builds resilience
