16.01.2022 For all my patients with MPNs (myeloproliferative neoplasms) here is a link to a webinar featuring Dr Ruben Mesa and Dr Robyn Scherber discussing "What are the COVID-19 risks for MPN patients?" https://patientpower.info//what-are-the-covid-19-risks-for

14.01.2022 Due to the SARS-CoV-2 (COVID-19) pandemic we are now seeing most follow-up appointments at both our North Gosford and Kanwal rooms by telehealth. My staff will contact you to confirm whether you would like a phone or video call. Video calls can be made via Skype, Zoom or Facebook. Unfortunately this option is not available for most new patients.

13.01.2022 Australia has excellent support organisations for patients with blood cancers. I encourage all my patients to contact these organisations who provide excellent patient-focused information and support. The ones I use frequently include: 1. Leukaemia Foundation https://www.leukaemia.org.au/ 2. MPN Alliance Australia https://www.mpnallianceaustralia.org.au/ 3. Myeloma Australia https://myeloma.org.au/ 4. Lymphoma Australia https://www.lymphoma.org.au/

12.01.2022 We have registered both our Kanwal and North Gosford rooms as COVID Safe businesses to assist in keeping our community COVID Safe.

04.01.2022 The COVIDSafe app speeds up the current manual process of finding people who have been in close contact with someone with COVID-19. This means you’ll be contacted more quickly if you are at risk which will reduce the chances of you passing on the virus to your family, friends and other people in the community. https://www.health.gov.au/res/apps-and-tools/covidsafe-app

03.01.2022 The SARS-CoV-2 virus causes the illness called COVID-19. This pandemic requires people to modify their behaviour and hence reduce their risk of acquiring this infection. Information from the NSW Government on this pandemic is available at https://www.health.nsw.gov.au//dise/Pages/coronavirus.aspx If you are unwell with a fever, cough, sore throat or shortness of breath you must call your GP or the National Coronavirus Helpline on 1800 020 080. You can also get up-to-date information on the Federal Government's Coronavirus Australia app, available on the App Store, Google Play and the Government's WhatsApp channel.

03.01.2022 For my patients with MPNs here is a link to Jean-Jacques Kiladjian's short presentation on the most important studies in myeloprolfieration neoplasms presented at this year's European Haematology Association meeting. He mentions the very exciting data on PEG-IFN in low-risk patients with polycythaemia vera. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PAuwtZZA3B0

02.01.2022 I am now using P2P Telehealth for video consultations on patients who do not need to be seen in person. This platform is exceptionally easy to use and works on most smartphones, tablets, or computers fitted with a camera. We can also include family members at remote sites in the consultation. https://p2ptelehealth.com.au/features Dr Cecily Forsyth
