16.01.2022 Boonah Airfield I would like to make the following statement concerning the Boonah Airfield. There have been a number of posts from John and Greg concerning both the history of the airfield and their position on it. Can I just add my voice to this escalating situation. It it my view that one of the first actions the incoming council needs to resolve is the issue of a long term lease for the airfield under the management of BAI. This lease should be in the order of 25 years to... provide certainty for investment into the airfield and for its growth. My view is that council should be looking to fund (either through council or in conjunction with State and/or Federal funding and possible private partnership) the upgrading of the airfield to address all of the concerns raised in the review. Not only that, but there should be a plan developed for the expansion of the airfield. To facilitate this development and expansion, there should also be undertaken a feasibility study into developing the southern end of the airfield into an expanded industrial precinct. #LifeIsPrecious #VoteDrChris See more
