20.01.2022 Heart Disease is Australia's biggest killer, taking 51 lives everyday. Many of these deaths are linked to environmental facors including poor diet, smoking and a lack of exercise; meaning that most are entirely preventable. So how do you know if your heart is healthy? Heart health and risk of heart disease is often measured using Heart Rate Variability (HRV); which is how well your heart rate can vary from a high to low rate. A high HRV indicates good heart health and overall... wellbeing, while a low HRV is often associated with strokes, heart attacks and diabetes. Did you know that chiropractic care can also improve the health of your heart? A 2006 study from the Journal of Manipulative Physiology revealed a strong link between chiropractic care and HRV; basically the better the functionality of your spine, the better your heart is able to adapt to stress and fluctuate its rate.
