25.01.2022 It's no secret that I love food, and especially solids! As most of you know, early introduction of solids is recommended (from 4-6 months of age, as developmentally appropriate). Our gut is a major part of our immune system and it's important to expose it to many different types of foods, including the 'allergens'. I really like the www.preventallergies.org.au website, which gives practical advice. And I also love Bamba, an Israeli peanut snack (kind of like Cheezels) as a way of introducing peanut to the diet and encouraging fine motor skills. It's available at most major supermarkets. Here's a photo of my beautiful niece enjoying her Bamba!

24.01.2022 This is a great website with information, evidence and useful tips for introducing solids (and in particular, allergenic foods) and managing eczema. There are also videos that show you how to prepare baths and use moisturisers.

23.01.2022 Telehealth has been going very well so far and I've had a great experience seeing (and hearing!) babies and their parents via video conferencing. I'm offering Telehealth appointments to all new and existing patients, but I'm also available for face-to-face consultations when preferred or needed. Please get in touch with the staff at NEST family clinic to arrange your appointment or to find out more details.

21.01.2022 Many parents are understandably concerned about the effects of bushfire smoke on their children. Here is some helpful advice from Dr Lexi Frydenberg and The Royal Children's Hospital.

21.01.2022 I received a very special photo today of these beautiful twins celebrating their first birthday! They were born a few weeks early and have been keeping their parents and big sister on their toes ever since. Have a very happy first birthday Levi and Cruz and thanks to your mum for sending me this photo

18.01.2022 Can you believe it's already December?! I've settled in to my new home at NEST family clinic and I'm enjoying the change of pace, especially when I get to take in this stunning view on my daily beach walk! I still have some appointments left before the end of the year so please call to make a booking. I'd love to see you for a six week (or other routine) check, feeding and settling issues, advice about solids, eczema management or any other concerns.

18.01.2022 The amazing team at NEST has been working hard to make sure we remain open and available to our patients. I’m looking forward to seeing you this week as usual, but if you have flu like symptoms and have returned home from overseas in the last 14 days or you have been exposed to a confirmed case of COVID-19, please call ahead for advice regarding rescheduling your baby’s appointment.

10.01.2022 I hope everyone is staying well in these unusual times! I am pleased to let you know that I will be offering mainly Telehealth appointments moving forward, with the option of face-to-face consultations where preferred or necessary. Please bear with me and my amazing support staff at NEST while we finalise the logistics. If you have an upcoming appointment, we will be in touch beforehand. If you would like to make an appointment, please phone NEST. Please also rest assured that NEST has strict screening criteria and physical distancing measures in place to ensure your safety if you need to come in for an appointment or immunisation.

09.01.2022 Happy International Day of the Midwife to all of the amazing midwives I've had the privilege of working alongside and calling my friends! Thank you for your hard work and dedication and for being there to support women at such an important time. (Artwork by @spiritysol)

08.01.2022 As we move into another period of lockdown in Melbourne, I want to let you know that I am still seeing patients, both in person and via Telehealth. This is a time when your baby's health is more important than ever and we continue to enforce strict screening and infection control measures at the clinic to ensure a safe space for everyone. Next time you see me in person, I will be wearing a mask and I will ask that there is only one parent or caregiver present in the consulta...tion room. If you or your baby have fever, respiratory symptoms or a contact with coronavirus, please let the staff at NEST know so we can arrange a Telehealth consultation. Stay safe and be kind to each other, Dani.

06.01.2022 It's that time of year again! Wishing all of my patients, their families and my colleagues a safe, happy and healthy Christmas and New Year. I will be taking a short break and look forward to seeing you in January!

04.01.2022 Some great advice from Dr Margie at The Royal Children's Hospital, Melbourne about talking to and supporting your children during these challenging times...

04.01.2022 Merry Christmas and Happy Chanukah!
