Enbloc capsulectomy refers to removing an implant and it's surrounding capsule (the scar around the implant) 'as one' - it allows the implant to be removed without exposing or actually even seeing the implant. While it's often the preference to remove implants and capsule 'as one', not all implants can be removed this way. ... Sometimes the capsule might be adherent to the surrounding muscle or ribs, and removal might cause damage.
