22.01.2022 Some crazy business was going on here that I had never seen before with baby locs. These 2 month old babies were so keen to matte up into proper mature dreads that the bases all congoed together in several places despite having had maintenance not 6 weeks before! Separation at the bases is a big part of keeping dreads (and your scalp!) healthy but some hair types are more inclined to matte than others and will require more regular attention to separation at the bases. My client is feeling more comfortable now and I just know these locs are going to be in no time at all come maturity. #dreadlocks #naturaldreadlocks #sistasystem #lokkstokk #weirdsistas #dreadpiratesgeelongsurfcoast

The legends who trained me, the brilliant Weirdsistas Dread Mechanics, will be taking on clients here in the Geelong region while I am going through cancer treatment, (and maybe if were lucky, beyond). The decision to open operations in the Geelong region was out of friendship and support for me. They knew my clients were left with very limited options for their dreadlock care when I was forced to (hopefully, temporarily) close my business after being diagnosed in January. They made the huge decision to set up in Geelong, splitting their time between the new private studio in Newtown and their established salon in Pascoe Vale. With more than 20 years of experience, you will be in the best of hands. Give them a ring if you havent been in for maintenance since you saw me last! Spread the word!

02.01.2022 A great comparison from Alana at Blessed With Dreads in Horsham. Sista System dreads evolution from Day 1, showing how our locs fatten up and expand over time in the most natural way possible. While we do use a crochet hook to create our locs, our method differs from the crochet method in that minimal backcombing is used to achieve our dreads, resulting in zero loss of length. With a bit of patience, Sista System dreads are typically mature at around the 6 month mark, give or take. Huzzah!
