25.01.2022 I often speak about Dream Seeds to my friends and family - it’s such a beautiful and enriching experience for not only the students, but also the volunteers. Having the opportunity to walk through the schools and meet the kids that will form the next generation is awesome. I feel so lucky that I can make a positive change by being involved in something that I really believe in! By guiding and allowing them a comfortable space to think about who they might want to be in the future, the Dream Seeds program gives this next generation a head start. It’s important to empower them and let them know that they are the leaders of their own lives so that they can achieve whatever they set out to do and believe in themselves!" - Brock McFarlane, Partnerships Officer 2019

22.01.2022 Happy Monday everyone! The Dream Seeds Team are excited to announce we’ll be planning trips to the following areas this year: Shepparton & surrounds; Far East Gippsland; Bright/Mansfield & surrounds. If you have connections to schools in any of these areas and want to help get Dream Seeds there, get in contact with us! We’d love to hear from you.

21.01.2022 On Saturday, we had our inaugural Dream Seeds Presenter Training Day. We had a great turn out and we're very grateful for everyone who contributed in making the day very successful! It was great to see people with varying levels of Dream Seeds experience; some who have been on many of our trips, some who have been involved behind the scenes and some who are just joining us for the first time.... There were some great discussions about the program and what our true purpose is here at Dream Seeds. It's fantastic to see so many young rural Victorians passionate about instilling aspiration, resilience and connection throughout our rural primary schools, planting the idea that young rural children have an array of choices for their future and can be the leaders of their own lives. Thank you to everyone who came along! Here's to an exciting future ahead at Dream Seeds.

20.01.2022 FEATURED VALUE: Aspiration - A strong desire to achieve something high or great. Comment below what aspiration means to you! We might feature your response on our page

17.01.2022 ‘Aspiration to me is reaching for the stars, but if you don’t make it to the stars and get fascinated by the moon instead, that’s cool too’ - Brady Cronin’s thoughts on our featured value, aspiration

16.01.2022 "I see Dream Seeds as much more than a workshop, I see it as the start of a culture change. It allows the younger generations to believe ‘I can’, rather than ‘no one before me ever has.’ It allows dreams to become goals rather than an idea that we never allow ourselves to strive for. My favourite part about being at Dream Seeds is the relentless passion the team have and being able to watch that same passion and belief transfer to the students by the time the workshop is over. There is just something so magical about it." - Brady Cronin from Maffra, Dream Seeds Sustainability and Development Officer 2018.

16.01.2022 Here's a short video that our team created from our session at Hawkesdale P12 College last week! After last week's trip to South West Victoria, Dream Seeds has visited a total of 28 rural schools, spreading our message of aspiration, resilience and connection with country kids all across the state. We're currently planning our trips for next year! Would you like Dream Seeds to visit your school? Feel free to contact us to discuss the possibility of a trip to your area. :)

15.01.2022 We’re very excited to announce that, as of today, we have reached over 1000 rural students through our Dream Seeds workshops. Thank you to every school, student, presenter and supporter for helping us reach this milestone - We’re very grateful. We look forward to inspiring aspiration, resilience and connection within students around rural Victoria for years to come.

15.01.2022 To be a part of the Dream Seeds program is truly amazing. The fact our program is entirely designed and presented by young people like myself makes it unique and the students are genuinely interested and excited to share their ideas and ambitions with us. Having attended a government primary school in regional Victoria, I am particularly connected to Dream Seed’s mission to inspire aspiration, connection and resilience in year six students across ALL regions of Victoria. I feel the workshop is something myself and my friends growing up would have really benefited from. I’m incredibly glad to give back in my role as coordinator! - Jayne Fendyk from Ocean Grove, Dream Seeds Coordinator 2018

13.01.2022 Happy New year from Dream Seeds! We are so excited to welcome in the new year and have loads of plans for an exciting 2020 sharing the power of aspiration, resilience and connection around even more parts of rural Victoria. We’ve had an exciting and busy few months in the lead up to the new year and thought we’d share some highlights with you all! ... In December we were really excited to be a part of the first Youthrive Victoria leadership conference, we had a great time expanding and sharing our knowledge and experience as young rural leaders! We have welcomed in a new committee for 2020 to help keep Dream Seeds growing strong and impacting as many students as possible in rural Victoria. Later in December the Dream Seeds team ran a trip in South Gippsland, visiting students in Wonthaggi, Tarwin Lower and Mirboo North (and sneaking in some time at the beach along the way). We loved visiting all these schools and especially loved being able to show off a prototype of our new website which will be launching soon to students at Mirboo North and finding out from them what other games and activities they think would make the website even greater and to continue the Dream seeds journey once we leave the classroom. Thankyou to The Andrews Foundation for assisting us with funding for this trip and for the development of games on our new website! We’re looking forward to sharing more Dream Seeds magic throughout 2020 and hope it is a great year for everyone!

05.01.2022 FEATURED VALUE: Resilience. Commonly known as the ability to 'bounce back', resilience refers to someone's ability to cope with difficult situations and overcome challenges. Why do you think resilience is important, particularly in rural communities?

04.01.2022 Happy holidays! Thanks to everyone who has supported Dream Seeds through 2018. Here’s to a great New Year!

02.01.2022 Since becoming involved in Dream Seeds last year, I have loved every moment of it. I love the content of the program and what it gives to kids, inspiring them to think big and be leaders of their own lives. The things we talk about in Dream Seeds, the values and ideas that we share, are things that I think we don’t talk about enough, at all stages In life. It is an incredible feeling to know that you are a part of something that isn’t just teaching skills to kids but also t...eaching them about life, about how to get the most out of their lives. The fact that we can inspire students to aspire, have dreams, set goals and help turn them into a reality is an amazing and rewarding feeling. The most incredible moment for me in the program is when you can take a step back at the end of a session and watch a kid who struggled to find their favourite thing to do at the start, writing a big dream for their future down and proudly pinning it on the wall with all the others, that’s the moment you know it’s working - that we’ve made a difference. I can’t wait to see where the program goes over the next few years as it has such an amazing impact on everyone involved. - Rohan Gerrard, Finance Officer 2019, also leading our Website Development Project.

02.01.2022 A massive thank you to Mt Pleasant Primary School Ballarat for having us earlier this month! We had a great time working with your grade 6 students. We also had the chance to get the students' feedback on the designs for our new website. It was great to hear their awesome ideas for what we should include on the new site! Our team is now focusing on our upcoming trips in June and July to Far East Gippsland and the Goulburn Valley.

02.01.2022 A big thank you to Portland South Primary School for their lovely words and support of our program. We had such a great time sharing our message with your students!

01.01.2022 Earlier this week, our team had the opportunity to run some fantastic workshops with both Tongala PS and Lockington Consolidated School. A huge thank you to the staff and students of both schools who were so welcoming and engaged in our program

01.01.2022 One of our favourite parts of our Dream Seeds program is having the students fill out their 'Dream Leaf', outlining some of their personal goals for the future. At Dream Seeds we really value the ability to reflect on our own lives and create goals based on what we how we wish the future to be. This can involve goals focusing on careers or achievements, but it's also important to have goals based around who you are and who you want to be. ... This can involve working towards being more a patient person, building your resilience or being more creative in your day to day life. Creating personal goals is a great step towards developing your personal aspirations and providing you the motivation and drive to work towards your ideal future! Do you have your own set of goals? How often do you check your goals and see how you're going? ReachOut.com Australia have a great webpage around the topic of goal setting and how it can help us! - Check it out through this link! https://au.reachout.com/mental-fitness/setting-goals Photo - Throwback to our visit to Shepparton East Primary School!

01.01.2022 "One of the most rewarding things in any school we visit is seeing the students’ understanding of aspiration, resilience and connection at the beginning of the Dream Seeds workshop, and how that understanding grows throughout each of the activities we run. By the end, they are able to see how they already implement those values in their own lives and they see why these values are so important for themselves and their communities moving into the future. It’s incredible watching the students flourish in the short amount of time that we spend with them, and to see them open their minds to what they can achieve." - Maddy Merzvinskis from Ballarat, Dream Seeds Designer & Presenter 2017-2018

01.01.2022 "Dream Seeds for me is more than just talking about our three main values with students. It’s about making genuine connections across Victoria with amazing, exciting and potential-filled young people. It’s truly inspiring being a part of such a stimulating project and I can’t wait to see the roll on effects of it." - Angie Bennett from Portland, Dream Seeds Presenter 2016-2018.
