22.01.2022 Some advice for all motorists out there RACQ says driving around with a face mask hanging off the rearview mirror could incur a $311 on-the-spot fine, if pol...ice determine it blocks the driver's view of the road. Greater Brisbane drivers are naturally in the habit of having their mask handy at all times, but having a mask dangling from the rear view mirror isn’t safe, Club spokesperson Lauren Ritchie said. Drivers need to have a clear view of the road from all angles so they can easily spot other cars, pedestrians and cyclists. Masks can create a blind spot, increasing the risk of a crash, especially if you’re travelling on highways or busy roads. You shouldn’t have anything hanging on their mirror which could block your view that includes your mask. So pack it away where it won’t be a distraction no matter how long your drive is. Now we did advise her to reschedule her first test because she wasn't ready which she did. At the time I also wasn't prepared to risk my 100% first time pass rate for 7 in a row, and whilst she failed with a CDE on her first attempt on a roundabout we had done a bazillion times, she was ready to pass! I even put a bet down on her getting a PERFECT first time pass in which case she'd get a McFlurry. I am still very super uber proud of Georgie as we worked her really, really, REALLY hard starting at 6am before school and during school holidays we ended up back at school too! KSHS was also my high school, so that first fail really did hurt even for me but not because of my pass rate. Now I don't even really care about those numbers anymore.
