22.01.2022 Nothing like a major shakeup to get things kicking along! Has Kate Jones done the right thing here? We won't know until the project is completed. What I do know is that the public is sick and tired of these government projects seemingly to all have major cost blowouts. ... The perception of no accountability is an issue for the government regardless of who is managing these projects. Does Kate Jones have the time and accountability to keep this project on time and on a budget? I certainly hope so as this project is a cracking one for the residents and visitors of Brisbane. https://bit.ly/39ccP2A

20.01.2022 The Queensland Building & Construction Commission (QBCC) has recently released a statement regarding timber decks. Anyone who resides with a timber deck (or deck structure) is reminded to have your deck inspected regularly for any structural compromise. Queensland has suffered a number of incidents where decks have collapsed during gatherings and it is the home owner's responsibility to ensure your friends and guests go home safely.... Refer to the QBCC information statement for all the details. https://bit.ly/2v29S64

19.01.2022 The start of the building industry (and property market) rebound has been perfect timing for headlines such as these. With the mining industry starting to feel the effects of the latest world events - I do agree that the local building industry is less affected by this and will assist with any economic recovery. For Adam Brandt to state that the housing system is broken is a bit of a stretch. However, the amount of government taxes (approx. 30% of the total cost) land/new hom...es is something they can look at immediately to provide a stimulus boost and encourage buyers into the market. https://bit.ly/2xpunu5

17.01.2022 This report indicates that the Brisbane property market is now back at peak levels over the last 5 years. I'm not convinced, but extremely happy with the positive news. Watching a news report where a Sydney property with harbor views was listed at 2.2mil and sold to an overseas investor for over 3mil.... Don't get me wrong - that is a cracking result for the owners who are selling, but this is a distortion of the numbers and not a reflection of what is happening in the suburbs. The steady increase in property prices helps promote stability in the economy and increases customer confidence levels which we need more of at the moment. https://bit.ly/2VBOeQY

12.01.2022 We haven't seen very much of this type of project where an existing highrise makes way for a new, bigger and better project. With the introduction of new planning schemes, I would expect to see a bit more of this happening in the coming years, especially in the southern beach areas where these areas are starting to attract a premium for properties. Surprisingly, this original project is only 12 years old, which is relatively young compared to other existing sites in the same ...area. As long as the feasibility figures stack up, then it can only have a positive impact on the area. https://bit.ly/37Zc9wj
