16.01.2022 Midlands Golf Club Australia Day Pro-Am 2019 DREW’S PADDOCK BACKS JUNIOR GOLFERS AT MIDLANDS Golfing legend Terry Price and Midlands Golf Club president David Both with junior golfers Liam Howlett, 11, and Charlie Bissinella, 14 two of 20 young competitors who won 10-round passes at the club’s Australia Day pro-am, courtesy Villawood Properties and Drew’s Paddock.... The Midlands pro-am, spearheaded by the Victorian Senior Masters, a PGA Legends Tour event, saw stars including Terry Price, Peter Senior, Peter O’Malley, Peter Fowler, Mike Harwood and David McKenzie displaying their considerable skills in the auld game and mixing with club members on and off course. 08.01.2022 DREW’S PADDOCK HELPS WITH SPECIAL SCHOOL HOOPS Kids will soon be throwing hoops and slam dunking at Ballarat Specialist School FARM campus, thanks to a community helping hand at Invermay Park today. Drew’s Paddock partners Villawood Properties and Midlands Ballarat RSL Sports and Services Club handed over $1500 towards two new basketball rings at the school’s senior campus.... FARM campus manager Graham Cheeseman said the project was important for the school’s senior students. Since the start of 2019, when the senior students moved to the Norman Street campus, we have been in need of playground equipment, he said. The use of this donation towards playground equipment will be appreciated by our students, and we thank Villawood Properties and Midlands Ballarat RSL Sports and Services Club. Ballarat Specialist School caters for the educational, social and emotional needs of children with a mild, moderate or complex intellectual disability. Students are aged between three and 18 years old and grouped across four mini-schools: Early Years, Junior, Middle and Senior. The senior campus has 160 students. Villawood’s regional Victoria general manager Julian Perez said the project was aimed at helping students at the school enjoy healthy outside activity. This aligns strongly with Villawood’s focus on encouraging activity in the community, especially with young people, he said. We’re very happy to help this project, which will assist so many special needs students. Midlands chairman Darren Bandy said the club had a history with the school, helping provide work experience opportunities, and was pleased to again be offering support for this valuable community resource. The senior campus does terrific work and we’re delighted to be helping students experience the fun, the teamwork and the exercise they’ll find in basketball, he said. The school also gives kids opportunities for work experience in its cafe, waiting tables, working the farm and other things. The Villawood-Midlands Drew’s Paddock project is soon to get under way with construction of its 33-lot first stage at Heinz Rd. Ultimately, Drew’s Paddock will host 111 premium lots. It offers high-end living with fairway and lake views and ready access to golf, basketball, volleyball, tennis and table tennis sporting facilities. The Drew’s Paddock precinct is close to the Western Highway, cutting 15 minutes from commuter road time to Melbourne, compared to growth areas in Ballarat’s west. With lot sizes of between 525 and 630sqm, the 11-hectare Drew’s Paddock is the first residential development north of Ballarat in many years. It has attracted more than 350 expressions of interest.
