20.01.2022 Removing a cancerous lump from the breast creates a defect. Tissue from outside the breast boundary can be moved to inside the breast boundaries to fill the defect. We introduced and published a new technique which has won the best paper prize @prsglobalopen. The Modified Lateral Intercostal Artery Perforator Flap paper has been downloaded more than 930 times in less than a year! Thanks to our wonderful team at BCI and @prsglobalopen for giving us the opportunity! #plasticsurgery #prsglobalopen #researchcollaboration #researchpapers #cancersurgeon #breastsurgeon #surgeon #oncoplasticbreastsurgeon #plasticandreconstructivesurgery

14.01.2022 I am honoured to have received this beautiful gift from a wonderful patient who underwent delayed breast reconstruction. A star has been named! She also kindly reviewed this page to make sure it has all the information needed for future patients.... Please find information about delayed breast reconstruction at https://www.drfaridmeybodi.com.au/delayed-breast-reconstruc (link also available in the bio). It was a real pleasure for me to be involved in her care! #delayedbreastreconstruction #oncoplasticbreastsurgeon #breastsurgeon #cancersurgeon #compassionatepatientcare #patientadvocacy #gratitude #breastcancer #breastreconstruction #breastreconstructionoptions #breastreconstructionsurgery

10.01.2022 Once you have reached the end of your active treatment or surgery, you will then have yearly follow-ups with your surgeon. These follow-ups will be informed by your mammogram and/or ultrasound results. Having reached your 5 years in remission, your ongoing health management and yearly mammogram and/ or ultrasound results will be reviewed by your GP. #cancerdiagnosis #breastcancerdiagnosis #patientadvocacy #checkwithyourdoctor #cancersupport #patientjourney #cancerspecialists #cancerfollowup #compassionatepatientcare #remissioncare #lifeaftercancer #cancersurgeon #breastsurgeon #surgeon #oncoplasticbreastsurgeon

07.01.2022 There are several different treatment options available to you, depending on your cancer diagnosis. Having taken you through your cancer pathology report, your surgeon will then discuss the treatment options recommended for you. Be mindful that someone else’s treatment will likely be different to yours, as treatments are highly targeted to a patient’s specific diagnosis. #cancerdiagnosis #breastcancerdiagnosis #checkwithyourdoctor #patientadvocacy #cancersupport #patientjourney #cancerspecialists #cancertreatmentoptions #beinformednotalarmed #compassionatepatientcare #cancersurgeon #breastsurgeon #surgeon #oncoplasticbreastsurgeon
