24.01.2022 Hey folks! We are excited to share the news that filmed a segment for NITV's 'The Point'. The segment is about a local indigenous mother and the challenges she faces home schooling her autistic son. If you're interested in seeing the episode, please tune in to NITV this Wednesday (6th May) at 8:30pm. It should hit the website not long afterwards. For us, this is a pretty big deal. Although Daniel films with Sky Racing around the Central West and Hunter/North Western NSW as a ...regular day job, this was our first time working with a national broadcaster shooting with our own gear. With any luck, it won't be our last! :) Check out other episodes of 'The Point' if you're interested: https://www.sbs.com.au/ondemand/program/the-point

24.01.2022 We've been pretty busy on the home front lately with a few projects ticking away behind the scenes... And one of those was a short film called "Together Apart" directed by Erifili Davis and produced by a doctor from the US. We are proud to have been involved and can't wait to see the final film. Check out the trailer for it below :)

24.01.2022 Hey folks With the COVID-19 virus pushing us into levels of lockdown, this means even weddings are taking a hit. New laws regarding the number of attendants particularly. I know many couples are set to marry in these next few months and may have to reschedule their dates in order to have their family attend. I've dabbled in live streaming services in the past, and still have the equipment available to do these again. I'm very curious to know if there would be any couples interested in live streaming their Ceremony to Facebook for family to attend virtually. I understand this wouldn't be suitable for everyone, but I wanted to see if there was an interest?

21.01.2022 We've been a little quiet lately, but thats because we've been helping out on a local film! Please check out the trailer, maybe chuck the page a like and share it around for us. We're so proud to be part of the amazing crew who helped make this happen!

20.01.2022 A few graded still frames from Sharon & Murray's wedding video, which is so close to done you can almost smell the printer ink on the DVD covers! :D ... That is, if my PC doesn't have a meltdown rendering the almost hour and a half 4K epic :)

19.01.2022 Pauleen & Tony's Wedding Highlights are available to view now on Youtube! Please be sure to click the wheel on the bottom right and change the video quality to 4K. Congratulations to the couple and our best wishes for their future. Please feel free to share around and tell us what you think. :) https://youtu.be/2q1JFSvwtAk

19.01.2022 We are aware our website is currently down. We are looking into alternative arrangements for web hosting, we will have it back up as soon as possible. :)

17.01.2022 A quick post about video editing software. For many years when I first started out, I used Sony Vegas. It was easy to use, well priced and did what I needed it to. As years went by I started to find issues with it crashing at random times (while rendering videos, colour grading etc)... at that point I decided to retire it and move to Premiere Pro. I used Premiere Pro when I did my studies at TAFE and made the switch a little while later for my own projects. I used this up unt...il about 3 months ago when I found stability issues and had the program crashing every 5 minutes. So I went back to Sony Vegas (now owned by Magix!) to edit my last wedding video. Recently though, I've been messing with a program called Davinci Resolve Studio. I got the program with my new camera (they chuck in a product key for free with the purchase of the camera.. how cool is that?!) and decided I'd have a crack at it. Right now I'm starting a new project in it and having a great time with it. I have everything at my fingertips, it seems pretty stable (one crash so far) and I have one of the most powerful colour grading tools right there to play with... no workarounds like in Vegas. It's early days, but I think this will become my main editing software. :)

16.01.2022 It was only a matter of time before I nicked a few of the lenses from my recent film camera splurge and threw it on my BMPCC4k. This lens is a Porst Color Reflex 55mm f1.4 stopped down to f2.8 as wide open is milky and gross. 2.8 is a nice sweet spot and gives some VERY smooth bokeh. Looking forward to putting this one in the lens bag on the next shoot :D

12.01.2022 Nothing like a cuppa to get the juices flowing for editing. I think I've had this cup since I first started this business some 7-8 years ago... many a mug of tea and coffee (and the occasional nip of something naughty) have been had from it. Time to get a new one yet? Hmm

11.01.2022 Episode 1 of a series I'll be working on over the next few months titled "My Local Music Scene". We're going to be talking to some local bands and original musos and explore the scene we've know and love over the years. Original musos are the backbone of our local scene and we want to help recognise the work these people, and the people of SOMAD ( Songwriters and Original Musicians Dubbo) do for the scene. Episode 1 covers the local band ERASER au on the road to a new single release. Please watch, share and check out the links to hear the awesome tunes from this local group.

10.01.2022 We'd like to congratulate Pauleen & Tony Barwick on their tying the knot yesterday. Thank you so much for the opportunity to capture your special day!

10.01.2022 As ERASER au alluded to in their post yesterday, I am indeed working on a new project with them. All part of a new series I hope to produce over the next few months. I'll post more info in due course. For those wondering: Yes, still doing the videography stuff, I still have weddings that I know clients are patiently waiting to see (and I'm kicking my own arse for not finishing them quicker). But as they say, all work and no play makes Dan a dull boy (well I say that, don't kn...ow about you folks!)... so I gotta throw some fun stuff in every once in a while to keep it fresh. Keep your eyes peeled both here on our page, and also the Eraser fanpage. :)

09.01.2022 i have had a rad morning filming with the lovely folks at Dubbo Square for some social media spots!

06.01.2022 Spent the morning shooting some scenes for an upcoming music video featuring the musical stylings of Mick Davis (Co-owner of Studio 138) and the talented Milla Ross and Jordan Davis. I of course cannot forget the motley crew of mobsters who made the scenes what they were. More to come (in the next couple of days/weeks. ;) For more info check out the Studio 138 Facebook page!

06.01.2022 Hey folks! Been a while since I have posted, it's been a bit quiet of late and I haven't had much of a chance to pick up a camera (although I have had time to spend all my money on new camera related things... go figure!). I grabbed the opportunity to film some stuff at my day job and chuck a quick edit together. This was done mostly to play around with the new 75fps slow motion feature on my camera :) Let me know what you think!... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ELWKSECVHcc

04.01.2022 With the activity around this page lately you might guess we've been a little busy. Recently working on a short film and now a music video with the awesome folks at studio 138. It was great to be working on a music video again, they are some of my fave projects to work on :) Enjoy this little teaser trailer (for a music video... Right?) And subscribe to the Studio 138 page for this and other awesome stuff coming soon!

04.01.2022 And that's the dvd of the wedding of Sharon & Murray Thompsen done and dusted. Ready for delivery :)

03.01.2022 Ladies and gentlemen, I think I have a serious problem... I mean collection. These will all get a good clean and some beautiful Ilford HP5 black and white film run through them. :) #oops #Isneezedandtheymultiplied #filmcamera #mamiyasekor #AsahiPentax #zenitE #canonae1 #praktica

01.01.2022 A rare moment at my day job to take some photos. Snapped this one of Sky Thoroughbred Central presenter Mick Wallace interviewing jockey Greg Ryan. #panasonicg7 #porstcolor #50mmf18 #gregryan #mickwallace #skyracing
