At these times I’ve found it handy to intentionally recalibrate my energy and focus.... One fast, reliable method is square or box breathing to up-kick, ground, or centre my energy. It’s a great technique to rebalance the Parasympathetic and Sympathetic Nervous Systems, and activate our Vagus Nerve to stablise brain functionality. The 3-method square or box breathing: 1. To ground or settle your energy and focus: breathe in 3 seconds, hold 3 seconds, *breathe out 4 seconds*, pause 3 seconds (4 cycles). 2. To boost or up-kick your energy and focus: *breathe in 4 seconds*, hold 3 seconds, breathe out 3 seconds, pause 3 seconds (4 cycles). 3. To centre your equilibrium: breathe in 3 seconds, hold 3 seconds, breathe out 3 seconds, pause 3 seconds (4 cycles).
