25.01.2022 Menopause is sometimes referred to as the change of life and occurs when levels of the female hormone, oestrogen, become very low. The average age of the menopause is 51 and around one-third of all women in Australia are in the menopausal age-range. About 80% of menopausal women experience symptoms due to lack of oestrogen, which typically persist for 4-8 years. For 10-20% of women, symptoms persist longer, into their 60s and 70s. Hormone treatment is very effective for all...eviating menopausal symptoms. Recent research shows that hormone therapy has more benefits than risks for most women under 60 and those within the first 10 years of the menopause, especially when delivered via the skin (e.g. patches). Dr Hayden Homer holds industry-leading accreditations and extensive experience in the treatment of menopause. Popular treatments include Menopausal Hormone Therapy (MHT), Tibolone and non-hormonal treatments which are mostly restricted to treating hot flushes and night sweats. 23.01.2022 Coronavirus (COVID-19) information In accordance with Australian Government and FSA (The Fertility Society of Australia) instructions and advice, we have postponed the commencement of some fertility treatments until the current restrictions, put in place to reduce the risks of person-to-person transmission and to free up medical resources, are reduced. If you were planning to start treatment, please contact us directly. https://www.fertilitysociety.com.au//fsa-st/covid-19...-faqs/ During this uncertain and challenging time, let us all focus on the bigger picture - we all need to act responsibly to help stop the spread and flatten the curve. Not following the government’s instructions will mean the loss of more lives and a longer time that restrictions will have to remain in place. Please note, we are not cancelling treatments, rather postponing until restrictions are reduced. Our office hours may be affected during this period. If the telephone (07 3832 2263) is unanswered, please email us at [email protected] and we will get back to you as soon as possible.
