24.01.2022 so Stockton Beach #meetupcleanup went great . cleanup up from Lavis Lane South for a km or so. lot to go yet, but we going to do regular cleanups until we can say ‘Stockton Beach is Clean’ . then it’s a much easier job to ‘keep it clean’ . we’ll give more notice next time , and i’ve been talking to Nat Parks today about getting a day beach pass exemption for anyone joining the @respect.the.bush cleanup. they were really positive about helping out so hopefully we get this thru. anyway, will let u know wen the next day is on.

17.01.2022 i started in my double garage . building camping kitchens with a triton saw and a makita drill. i built them myself , sold them myself, i designed them myself. i marketed them myself , and for 17 of 20 years i did all the accounts . i still manage the business day to day , and do most of the social media . still unqualified and the only ticket i have is a truck licence . but ive had a crack . i never set out to prove anything , i just wanted to pay off my truck and get ahead in life. im still living in the end of my kitchen factory, that i built. ive contributed 75 million into the Australian economy. we have 110 Australian staff. ive got a few knockers. wonder what theyve done in the last 20 years .

16.01.2022 so no this white raw material isn’t made in Australia. it’s made in Vietnam. the raw material just is not made here anymore. it used to be. made in Bundaberg, with 120 staff. but cheap imports that flooded the country after tariffs were removed meant that Australia couldn’t compete. it’s a familiar story for those that have some knowledge of how things work. this is actually the case for most ‘Aussie made products’ often the raw materials are imported because WE JUST DONT MA...KE IT HERE ANYMORE. wat would u like me to do ? i could very easily get this bag produced and stitched overseas, it would be about half the price. but we gotta support what we have left . i’m doing everything i can. so the Bundaberg factory rolls prints and stitches the basic bag, we get it to Gloucester where our staff recut it and stitch it and add the binding and handles to make the shopping bag. the bag is produced in Bundaberg stitched in gloucester and that’s all i can do. i wasn’t sure tbh where the actual raw material came from i checked and it’s from Vietnam. same as our made Drifta drawers and kitchens the plywood is from Chile well we don’t make this plywood in Aus. it’s all rather a complex issue but best thing we can do is support what’s left of our decimated manufacturing industry. that’s wat im doing and have done for 20 years. an if i had of worried about the knockers i would have given up 19 1/2 years ago . it’s unfortunate some people have so little understanding how things work, the same ones critasize about the high price of made in Aus then complain ‘it’s not made in Aus’ . anyway, there u go. support what’s left or there will be nothing left . our choice L See more
