Y A S O O! from K A S T O R I A Sent in from the shores of Kastoria in Northern Greece, heres some scenes of the beautiful village connected to Driftwoods family heritage... its the home town of our owner Tom Galopoulos when he was a very young lad. Our Cellar Door assistant Michelle is currently in Greece on holidays, Kastoria was the first place on the list!... Set on a promontory (9km around) on majestic Lake Orestiada between 2 mountain ranges, picturesque Kastoria is dotted with historical churches and temples, some more than 1000 years old. Stately mansions, old neighbourhoods and narrow lanes link restaurants, tavernas, rotisseries and cafes for grazing around the lake. Known for cultivating beans, lentils and chickpeas, Kastoria has excellent mushrooms and good wine too! Greece sounds and looks so beautiful! 07.01.2022 Driftwood Single Site Cabernet Sauvignon 2017 95points and Gold for James Halliday 2021. Such a well rounded wine. It feels complete. Blackcurrant, plum, peppercorn and dark chocolate flavours roll persuasively through the palate. Tannin is fine-grained and length is impressive. Its not overly big or muscular because it doesnt have to be; everything is in its rightful place.

Representing our Greek family roots, this amazing ancient relic replica, has been the centre stage for many fabulous concerts throughout Driftwoods history and is a magical space for visitors to just stretch their legs and enjoy the sunshine, take in the view of undulating v...ines, or to reminisce, or dream, of travels to Greece. Heres a different glimpse of the hard work and detail put in to the build of our amphitheater, as captured and appreciated by @a.s.interior . We cant wait to also see you back in this wonderful space and good luck with your final interior design project too! feeling very nostalgic reminiscing on this time last year when I was on my last ever uni mid sem break soaking up a whole lot of sunshine, wine + archi inspo over in the west !! this is one of the coolest wineries ive ever been to, this beautiful amphitheater with the recycled stone flooring was a major source of inspiration to my final project design (which involved a whole lotta recycled materials and large terrazzo floor tiles) theres so much beauty in recycling materials and this one example really speaks for itself !! I definitely was way more interested in this than the wine, for once... thanks to Bushtucker Tours for taking me to this amazing place
