Whether you want to fish, beach comb, have a magic BBQ under the stars, knock the top off a coconut or tinny or simply kick back and relax, Driftwood offers it all. Driftwood sleeps six comfortably, has a well appointed kitchen with large fridge and a separate chest freezer. The front verandah offers stunning sunset views. 23.01.2022 Quick trip to Driftwood for a spot of crabbing down in the Finniss. Chilli mud crab for dinner tonight. Wildlife was in abundance, watch a beautiful tree snake change homes on the first night. Hit the mouth of the Finniss the following morning and managed our crabbing in quick time while having a leisurely troll along the banks. The fish were there but we obviously were not holding our mouths the right way. The fruit bats are there in abundance, most probably 3-5,000 or so in this colony with small crocs lurking below and whistling kites harassing them from above. The water was delightful but the handbag decorating the beach was a little sobering.

23.01.2022 Currently at Driftwood getting things sorted for the dry season. The sea has been fantastic and the trip down the coast great, but the sunsets as usual brilliant. Tonight we have had the lights on for a BBQ and a mopoke has been using them as a happy hunting ground. Red eye a problem but it was a treat just to get near enough for a photo.

22.01.2022 Another peaceful weekend at Driftwood. The atmospheric conditions brilliant for photography. A couple of quirky videos to follow...

21.01.2022 Out to do a little tidy up for the new year. Mowing brings out the wild life. Lapwing plovers were enjoying a bit of a feast but our old a little worse for wear frilled neck lizard turned up today to enjoy a few tasty morsels in the short grass. Catching him on the ground for a photo was not to be, but he was keeping a careful eye on us, none the less. This frilly has been around for awhile now and is easily distinguished by his hole-y frill.

19.01.2022 Driftwood has installed a new set of bunks in the second bedroom. We can now sleep 8 comfortably. Don't forget weekday rates of $190/night for up to 4 adults and 2 kiddies under 12. If more adults with a limit of 8 an extra $30 per person per night applies. Weekends and public holidays rates are still $220 per night for up to 4 adults. 17.01.2022 You never know your luck at Driftwood. Currently we are sprucing up the place and have had builders here for the past week replacing cladding and gutters. After work the lads have tried a little land based lure flicking for barra from the rocks directly in front of Driftwood. Check out their results... The big girl went 102.5 cm and after the photos swam off shaking her head. They landed around a dozen fish over 4 nights. Well done! 13.01.2022 While the barra were a little scarce the mudcrabs were pentiful and full. Certainly enjoyed a cold beer, shower and an airconditioned bed at the end of the day.

07.01.2022 Love is in the air or more accurately on the ground at Driftwood. This beautiful Bower Bird’s Bower was but bare dirt three weeks ago and has now sprung up under our large Beauty Leaf tree. There are many baubles to attract a mate including the odd blue shell from under our stairs. (Odd because they have been splashed with blue paint as a result of recent painting!) We have had lots of bird activity of late including a beautiful osprey that seems to have adopted the air lanes in front of Driftwood and the abundance of small figs in the sandpaper fig has meant a plethora of small fruit eaters.
