02.01.2022 ***The Longest Well Ever Drilled*** The production well O-14 at the #Chayvo #Field in #Russia is currently the longest well ever drilled. While its vertical depth travels less than 1km, the hole reaches a staggering 15km in measured depth. For a large part of the year, the platform is surrounded by ice which makes supply vessel visits very challenging but absolutely essential to ensure the drillers have everything they need.... Directional drilling is becoming increasingly popular in the oil and gas industry for its ability to reduce the wells surface impact and improve production. With directional drilling, one central site can service multiple well bores that reach multiple locations at non-vertical angles.
