25.01.2022 CHANGE by the DRILL Junior Company was performed to capacity audiences at the Moonah Arts Centre on Thursday and Friday nights. CHANGE featured the creative ideas of our 20 young company members, guided by choreographers H.K. Vermeulen and Angela Barnard. Audiences enjoyed an exploration of themes including climate change, changes we have experienced in 2020 and even the loose change we carry in our pockets! CHANGE was a celebration of resilience and recognized some of the c...hallenges our young people have overcome this year! Thanks to the resilient and creative performers, the parents and carers, our volunteers, and everyone who worked towards making this show possible. CHANGE was supported through Arts Tasmania by the Minister for the Arts and by the Australian Government’s Regional Arts Fund, which supports the arts in regional and remote Australia, administered by RANT arts.

17.01.2022 The DRILL Junior Company is a creative, accessible and non-competitive contemporary dance program for young people aged 9-14. One of the best things about it is that it caters for all young movers, from experienced dancers to beginners! The focus of Junior Company is on generating choreography and movement to a theme, using tasks, improvisation and collaborative group work. DRILL was delighted to be on the west coast for 5 weeks in term 3 working with students in grades 3- 8 from Mountain Heights School, Rosebery District School, Strahan Primary School and Zeehan Primary School. DRILL choreographer and teaching artist Hannah Vermeulen led 73 students in 54 workshops across the five weeks delivering Dance Nexus on the west coast for the first time! This film of each of the school’s unique ...dance creations and an edited finale was made to capture their hard work and discoveries through movement, creating a safe outcome within COVID restrictions. Thank you to Black Crow Visuals / Tim Vermeulen who filmed all the excitement over the final week of the program. 10.01.2022 DRILL's Junior Company is back again and we're looking for dancers to become a part of our 2020 Company! Junior Company is a contemporary dance program for young people aged 9 to 14, running for nine weeks from October to December. Junior Company will be rehearsing at Cosgrove High School and performing at the Moonah Arts Centre, led by choreographers Angela Barnard and Hannah Vermeulen.
