25.01.2022 COVID Marshal Training Now Available > From 21 August 2020, you must have a COVID Marshal if your business or activity involves any of the following: Hospitality Gyms and fitness centres Public swimming pools... Social and community clubs Religious or faith-based ceremonies Supermarkets and hardware stores Distribution centres Businesses/activities required to have a COVID Management Plan (eg. events) > The South Australian Tourism Commission's free COVID-19 Awareness Training has been expanded to enable COVID Marshal certification. > Access the SA Health COVID Marshal Training at: www.covid-19.sa.gov.au/recovery/covid-marshals COVID Marshals must have completed the training as prescribed by SA Health. Their business owner/operator or the person in charge of their activity must be able to prove that their COVID Marshal(s) have completed this training, so that they can show this to an authorised officer if requested.

15.01.2022 Premier Steven Marshall has announced a $4 million Great State travel voucher scheme, part of a significant tourism stimulus package to further boost the visitor economy. The Great State vouchers will be offered to South Australians to use towards accommodation across the state. Through the State Government, the South Australian Tourism Commission will provide $100 vouchers for use at participating CBD hotels, and $50 vouchers to spend in regional and suburban accommodation.... The program is available for all South Australians over the age of 18, and excludes Saturday night stays. Great State vouchers will be available from Thursday 15 October 2020 at 9am until Saturday 31 October 11.59pm or until the allocation is exhausted. Consumers can book their stay from Thursday 15 October to 11 December 2020 inclusive. Find out more here: campaign.southaustralia.com

02.01.2022 Exciting news for the tourism industry with Premier Steven Marshall announcing a $20 million support package to encourage private investment in regional tourism development. The Tourism Industry Development Fund offers grants from $20,000 to $500,000 for new and improved regional accommodation, and quality tourism product and experiences. It aims to assist in the COVID recovery of regional tourism, by encouraging regional operators to improve and diversify so they can attract more visitors and get a higher return on their offering.
