25.01.2022 That's a wrap on Leaky Gut awareness month so I wanted to give you a recap on all things Leaky Gut Syndrome and how to heal it What is Leaky Gut Syndrome? A healthy small intestine will allow nutrients to pass into the bloodstream and expel waste into the large intestine and out of the body. With Leaky Gut, the small intestine will become inflamed porous. What happens is unmetabolised toxins from the small intestine will transfer into the bloods...tream which causes an autoimmune response. This will result in skin issues such as Acne or Psoriasis My top 3 tips to heal Leaky Gut are: 1 Eliminate foods that will irritate you. Inflammatory foods include sugar, dairy, eggs, and gluten or any foods that you may have an intolerance to. 2 Improving gut flora. Good bacteria is beneficial to heal the lining of the gut. 3 Reduce stress. Stress will increase inflammatory chemicals in the body that will be released and irritate the lining of the small intestine. Is there anything else that you would like to know about Leaky Gut Syndrome? Let me know in the comments See more

24.01.2022 Here is the hard truth: You will need to make some lifestyle changes to heal your psoriasis... Inflammation can enter our bodies in various ways and lifestyle choices are one area for major concern. So what do I mean by lifestyle choices? This means friendships, relationships, sleep, and food. Friendships: Personally I have experienced situations where my friendship choices have had an impact on my health. Stress from things like drama c...an affect your health very negatively Be aware of where you are receiving stress from: Is it a long term situation? or a short term situation? Often when you are experiencing severe psoriasis almost all of your energy needs to be spent on getting better. Sleep: This is when the body rejuvenates itself. That's why it is so important to be getting enough quality sleep. Be aware of what lifestyle choices are affecting your psoriasis and cut these out Keeping a diary will be extremely helpful in keeping track of what causes flare-ups. I have a whole podcast series on my website called 'psoriasis unmasked' if you would like to listen to my story and more about healing your psoriasis. To listen go to salubre.com.au Did you find this helpful? Comment so I know that you like these posts : @nutraorganics See more

22.01.2022 What are the long term effects of Botox? The botox drug is made from the Botulinum Toxin Type A which has a paralysing effect on the body. In the case of botox for its anti-ageing effects, the dosage is small and the location in which the drug is administered is specifically targeted to block the signals from the nerves to the muscles in the face. The result is smoother skin as the muscles are no longer able to contract when a facial expression is made.... That sounds crazy, right!? After years of use this is what could happen to your skin: Muscles will appear weaker and flatter. Skin becomes thin. Skin becomes looser. Sooooo what's the alternative Irene? Aesthetic Acupuncture is a fantastic alternative to Botox. It offers a natural, non-invasive and pain-free alternative that relaxes the muscles to reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles without any of the toxic substances or negative effects of botox. If you want to know more about Aesthetic (Cosmetic) Acupuncture or find out if you are a suitable candidate, give us a call on 03 9888 4129 or email us at [email protected] See more

22.01.2022 In case you missed the announcement I made on stories @salubre_skin_clinic is now a @dripivaus partner! This means that you can get Vitamin Infusions from a registered nurse in the comfort of Salubre Skin Clinic... What the heck are Vitamin Infusions!? ... Good question! Although oral supplementation is beneficial, delivering the specialised nutrients straight into the bloodstream will deliver the necessary nutrients exactly where they need to go. Every nutrient used in Salubre Skin Clinic is TGA approved and manufactured by GMP. Each initial consultation is with a registered doctor that is specifically trained in this area of vitamin infusions. Once the prescription has been ordered, a registered nurse will deliver the infusion in a comfortable and relaxing setting. 20.01.2022 Avoid skin flare-ups during the stress of Christmaswith these tips... For many, the holiday season can be a time of year where their skin will break out due to the increased stress, altered diet and family get-togethers that are confronting at the best of times. So here are my tips to manage the stressors of Christmas and enjoying the festive season while keeping your skin healthy: ... Traffic Chaos: Ensure you have plenty of time to get where you need to go. Nothing is worth getting upset for and if people around you are feeling chaotic and stressed it doesn’t mean you need to. If a situation presents that you are confronted with reckless drivers just let it go. The frustration will soon past and will be totally forgotten. Family Chaos We all have some level of dysfunction in our family, right? My approach is to embrace it and enjoy the moments you have with each other. If tempers flare just walk away. Someone has to show constraint so why can’t it be you! Temptation - Look at what the menu will be beforehand if you are celebrating at a relative’s house perhaps chat with them as to what minor alterations can be made so that it is suitable for you to keep your skin healthy. What other tips do you use during the holiday season to reduce stress? See more

14.01.2022 Did you know psoriasis affects 2-3% of the world’s population? That is over 15 million people worldwide affected by skin that sheds every 4 days instead of the normal 28 day period Now let’s throw in guttate psoriasis Generally, the cause of psoriasis includes stress, hormonal factors, genetic factors, and dietary factors. Guttate psoriasis presents after an infection (commonly throat infection) has been experienced. ... Traditionally, guttate is treated just the same as any other psoriasis but this won’t get rid of it. As someone who had erythrodermic psoriasis in my teens and 20s, I would never want anyone to suffer from this unnecessarily. Obviously there is no ONE treatment for EVERY person, however, it is really important to understand what causes a disease to present. This will always highlight the treatment strategy of each individual and also how to encourage a healthier person by targeting the disease and managing its symptoms. 13.01.2022 Over the last month (psoriasis awareness month!), we have talked about the multiple ways to heal and manage your psoriasis but now the month is coming to an end , so I wanted to provide you with a recap! The reason why it is so hard to find relief for psoriasis is that it requires a multi-faceted approach to reduce the inflammation in the skin which then slowly reduces the thickness of the psoriatic lesions. A multi-faceted approach incorpo...rates nutrition, stress management, skin health, overall wellbeing and lifestyle factors. Looking at the number and quality of carbs you are consuming, as well as cutting out gluten is recommended to help manage psoriasis. Treatments will not work on their own. Treatment is essential but I guarantee that most treatments won't work if you are eating inflammatory food and are super stressed. Each point mentioned above has it's own dedicated post that dives deeper into each topic or you can head over to my website to listen to the 'psoriasis unmasked' series on my podcast See more

12.01.2022 How I told my husband about my psoriasis... Within two months of dating my now husband, I had a major flare-up of psoriasis that covered my entire body. I was challenged by, do I tell him the truth or just end it over the phone and save myself from extreme embarrassment? This was very tough for me as I always carried shame with this disease and didn’t let many people know what I was dealing with . Surprisingly he told me that he wou...ld be open to being supportive and helping me through my journey. My initial reaction was, this isn’t your problem it’s mine. Instinctively I felt that I didn’t want our relationship to be founded on my struggles with my health. Although that is something I was going through and obviously would impact the person I am in the relationship, I was also mindful that I didn’t want it to be the foundation our relationship was built on. MY BIGGEST TIP: Don’t let the illness of either person in the relationship form the foundation of the relationship. If conversations are constantly centred around reasons for ill health, treatments, and doctor’s appointments this can be dangerous as it may form the basis in which the relationship is built on. In this situation, one person embodies the victim/weak persona and is always in a ‘dependant’ situation. While the other partner becomes the carer who can become the hero/saviour that helps make everything right. This division in power will potentially create problems when the ill person’s health starts to improve. If the relationship can’t handle the shift in power, then cracks will start to show or the previously ill person will embody the sick persona again in order to return the relationship back to what appeared to be working but clearly wasn’t. Wow, that was a long one so thank you if you made it to the end! If you are in a similar situation and want to chat, please send me a DM See more

12.01.2022 One of the most frequently asked questions I get from my clients is "what can I do to slow down the signs of ageing?" My number one tip is always Cosmetic Acupuncture This is a form of acupuncture that targets the wrinkles and jowls and improves the circulation of your skin to encourage your body’s natural ability to rejuvenate and revitalise. ... You won’t look like you have had plastic surgery but you WILL have people comment on how well-rested and youthful you look. These are the comments my patients tell me they get after getting Cosmetic Acupuncture and they are always pleasantly surprised at how good they feel. Cosmetic Acupuncture may sound like a scary treatment but I assure you it is 100% safe, natural, and performed by Dr Irene Prantalos with years of experience. To learn more about the treatment or book you can email or call me, Dr Irene Prantalos. All of my contact details are always linked in my profile See more

06.01.2022 FEATURED// @spaandclinic tried and tested the Salubre Skin Flawless Essential Pack for Acne scarring. Here's what they had to say: "Salubre skincare was founded by Chinese Medical Practitioner and Acupuncturist Dr Irene Prantalos and aims to treat even the most delicate and sensitive of skins. We tried the Redness & Sensitivity range, which aims to provide hydration and reduce sensitivity through herbal botanical extracts. A mixture of healing oils such as... Macadamia Oil, Pumpkin Seed Oil, Coconut Oil, Marula Oil, and Kukui Nut Oil naturally replenish the protective skin barrier to minimise sensitivity, while the herbal extracts such as Green tea, Witch hazel, Astragalus, Dong Quai, Rehmannia, Tribulus, Licorice, Olive leaf and Seabuckthorn together with Vitamins B5 and E repair the appearance of the skin. After using the range for a month, our skin felt smoother and less reactive than before. We also love the simplicity of the range as it consists of only five products: cleanser, spritz, serum, day/night cream, and a mask." Thank you for featuring us @spaandclinic See more

06.01.2022 "This detox will improve your skin" Before you click off just for seeing the word detox, let me explain. We are constantly inundated with the benefits of doing a detox so I want to clear up 'detoxes' for anyone who may be considering doing one. The body detoxifies every minute of every day, ON ITS OWN! he human body eliminates toxins through 5 channels; bowels, kidneys/bladder, skin, lymphatic system and liver. ... However, I do recommend making a switch in your diet if you are experiencing negative and inflammatory effects due to your diet and lifestyle. Here's what you can do: Eat organic and biodynamic fresh produce. Meat should be biodynamic and lean. No alcohol, sugar, refined carbohydrates, processed foods, fatty foods and fast foods. Drink 2-3 litres of filtered water. Meditate or do any type of relaxation technique every morning for at least 10-20 minutes. In Chinese Medicine, we believe that diet and lifestyle is the most effective way to heal the body. If you would like some more information from me (Dr Irene Pranatlos of Chinese Medicine) send me a DM and I would be more than happy to chat with you See more

06.01.2022 Is leaky gut making your Psoriasis worse? What is Leaky Gut Syndrome and how does it occur? An overgrowth of Candida Albicans can lead to a yeast infection. This change in micro-organisms in the gastrointestinal tract impacts the integrity of the lining of the intestinal tract making it easier for toxins to enter the bloodstream. Additionally, a poor diet, poor lifestyle choices such as excessive drinking, and excessive emotional stress will comp...romise the digestive system leading to the development of Leaky Gut Syndrome. How Does Leaky Gut Syndrome Affect Psoriasis? The increased permeability along the digestive tract lining allows waste and toxins to enter the bloodstream. These toxins are then transported throughout the entire body together with the nutrients. The body recognises the presence of toxins and so aims to eliminate them through the skin. This process often results in or exacerbates, lesions on the skin. For this reason, it is essential to look after your digestive system. If you want to learn more about how leaky gut can affect psoriasis send me a message and I would be more than happy to chat with you See more
