22.01.2022 Driving tests on the road to recovery As of Monday 18 May, we will start practical driving assessments for candidates who had their test cancelled due to CO...VID-19. As promised, we are now getting in touch with all candidates who had their PDA cancelled to rebook their driving test at their closest centre. Those who had their test cancelled first (in March) will be the first to be contacted and offered a PDA. Please continue to be patient until we call you to secure your booking it's going to take us until the end of June to call every single candidate. Here's what we're doing to help you get a test sooner: 45 new jobs created to manage additional tests. a new temporary PDA only centre to open in Welshpool 7 days a week 7am-6pm by the end of June for up to 6 months. DoTDirect PDA online booking will be available by the end of June, once all cancelled PDAs have been rebooked. Thank you again for your understanding and cooperation during this time. Keep an eye on our social media or visit our website www.transport.wa.gov.au//practical-driving-assessments-pda for the latest PDA information.
20.01.2022 "Young drivers are some of the most vulnerable people on our roads, with their risk of being involved in a traumatic road crash increasing dramatically as they transition from supervised driving to provisional and full licenses," he says.
19.01.2022 Did you see our Streets Ahead section in the West? This week we've covered indicating, a seemingly small part of our day to day which can have major consequences if done incorrectly. #roadsafetycommission #savinglivestogether
19.01.2022 COVID-19: We have suspended the ability to book a Practical Driving Assessment online. All candidates with existing bookings are being contacted and only prior...ity candidates requiring a driving test for essential work purposes (such as emergency services or freight tasks) will be accommodated. If you are not a priority candidate please cancel your test online. We all have a role to play in working together to stay safe and ensuring we can continue to deliver essential services to those who need it most. When the current health situation improves we will prioritise appointments for candidates who have had their PDA cancelled and open remaining bookings to the public. Please be assured, we will let you know when we resume business as usual operations and thank you for working with us at this time. Keep an eye on our social media or visit our website www.transport.wa.gov.au/COVID-19 to stay up to date.

12.01.2022 Motorists are being asked to please be extra careful when driving throughout the Bunbury CBD as endangered black cockatoos are prevalent in the area. The b...irds are often feeding on trees or on the ground near verges and in car parks specifically behind the Bunbury Public Library and Bunbury Regional Art Gallery where they feed on the cape lilac trees. These large-winged birds are susceptible to being hit by cars as they usually take off into the wind on long low wing beat. Please report injured cockatoos to the Wildcare Helpline on 9474 9055 to ensure they are attended to quickly and have the best chance of survival. : Jean and Fred (https://flic.kr/p/eRrNrG)
