24.01.2022 Congratulations Meghan, well done and safe driving.
23.01.2022 COVID-19 Due to the current COVID-19 global pandemic, It is with a heavy heart that I inform you that as of close of business today, 16/3/20, LDMP mentoring sessions will be cancelled for the foreseeable future. This decision was made by the DMT Board in consultation with the Department of State Growth and has taken in to account the latest advice from the Australian Federal Government.... How this affects LDMPs: No driving sessions until further notice. No new learner or mentors to be inducted. Coordinators to discuss work arrangements with their individual auspicing bodies. DMT will keep all LDMPs updated as things progress. Until then, stay safe everyone. Thank you, Rick Mansfield DMT Chairman.
22.01.2022 Well its pretty wet out there in some parts of the state...so please remember to drive to conditions. This means: Slow down... Pop your headlights on Leave enough space between you and the vehicle in front of you Drive with caution Remember if you pass a crash scene, slow down to 40kmh for emergency service workers Safe driving everyone

12.01.2022 The results just keep coming from Get In2 Gear Break ODay Council Shyla showing the world how you can break the chain. Shyla entered the Get In2 Gear Learner Driver Mentor Program in October 2017. Shyla comes from a family who mostly do not hold a current drivers licence and with a 2 year old infant to mother, she realised that she needed to break that chain and give her daughter a life with transport. Shyla admits that during her schooling life, she didnt feel like she per...formed very well, she would often make any excuse possible to escape from every single test as they made her feel extremely anxious. At the tender age of 16yrs, Shyla became a young mother to her beautiful daughter and 2 years on, they are both doing very well. Shyla should be commended on not only deciding to make a change, but having the confidence to overcome her fears of driving, testing and branching out. She achieved her L2 drivers licence today at her first and only attempt. Considering how anxious and nervous she was, she performed extremely well. In review of how she feels the test went and how she can help others, she decided to tell all those learners out there who suffer from anxiety or nerves and have had a lifetime of no transport, to get out there and have a go! You too can break that chain. See more

08.01.2022 Need a winter hack for how to de-ice your windscreen without adding more water that could re-freeze and make your windscreen unsafe for driving? - Half fill a ...large zip lock bag with hot tap water (not boiling hot water from the kettle). - Make sure the bag is sealed. - Wipe the filled bag gently over the ice or frost on your windscreen until it melts. Thanks to Sergeant Scott McKinnell.
07.01.2022 A successful P1 licence for the Greenlight LDMP from the Goodwood Community Centre, Tasmania. Congratulations to our newest provisional driver Rachael and thank you to Mentor Chris for all his hard work getting Rachael there.
07.01.2022 Great news from Get In2 Gear, our LDMP on the East Coast run by Break ODay Council Lynsey is on her way! Lynsey has been mentored in the Get In2 Gear Learner Drive Mentor Program for 15 months. She came to the program with a body full of nerves and no idea where to start. Her numerous mentors helped and guided her into taking control of the vehicle and most of all her self-confidence.... Unfortunately, during the 15 months Lynsey has been a part of the Get In2 Gear program, she fell quite ill and needed some time away. Once her health improved enough to drive again, she has been more determined than ever, by being punctual, respecting her mentors and the program by ensuring she allowed enough notice if she felt unwell. Lynsey has been a fully committed learner who has displayed sheer determination to reach her goal. For someone who said that she would never drive the St Marys Pass, Get In2 Gear is so proud of her safe and momentous achievement today of her Provisional Licence. Lynseys advice to other learners is to try not to be too nervous, if you know you are doing something wrong, then practice, practice, practice and dont give up We are so proud of you today Lynsey and we look forward to sharing the roads safely with you in the future. 04.01.2022 An L2 for Get In2 Gear from Break ODay Council Today TyAnn ticked all the right boxes TyAnn heard about Get In2 Gear Learner Driver Mentor Program through word of mouth back in May 2019. TyAnn is a single mother who juggles the care of her daughter once a week, so she can clock up her on road hours. She is fully committed to the program and has a strong will to succeed in life with her precious young daughter.... When TyAnn started in Get In2 Gear, she was quite nervous and a little erratic with her steering, with the occasional lack of concentration. Through 8 months on her L1 Learners Licence and over 30 hours of on road driving with her mentor, she has not only achieved her L2s today, her safe driving ticked all the right boxes! TyAnns advice to other learners who may be nearing their L2 test is try not to be too nervous, have a good night sleep the night before and believe in yourself. Well-done TyAnn and we look forward to sharing the road with you See more
